Shot one small buck.. let him walk like 3x but shot him on my last day of vacation.. first year hunting on my own land abs wanted to break the ice.. I won’t be shooting Anymore young bucks.

We hunt columbia co. Got a really nice heavy horned 8 last weekend. My biggest yet. Was out this morning and it was dead. EHD did a number on the herd from what Im hearing from about mid Columbia south on both sides of the river.

We are definitely seeing less in terms of volume. Audible shots are probably 25% what they usually are. That being said, nothing beats just being out in the woods as the sun comes up or goes down.

The 8 point on my cam up in Indian Lake. Went down closer to Lake Champlain for one last hunt yesterday with my dad before he headed south for the winter. I pushed a 10 pointer to him. Celebrating that with my father was indescribable. That’ll probably be my last hunt of the season.

We will hunt Sat to Monday depending on how we do. Usually pull 2 to 3 bucks off the property. Usually 8 points or better. Packing today with cook out tomorrow.

The maras are hunting for a talented GM.

But just had a young deer probably 1 or 2 years old tops and it was delicious. Best deer I've ever had. I think the older larger bucks are too tough and gamey but again I'm new at this. (Son shot him I ate him )
