Biggest rivals in CFB play at noon. Historically, Harbaugh can't beat Ohio State, but the Wolverines are rolling! Could this be the day where Michigan finally beats THE Ohio State?
Oklahoma State nor Oklahoma have a particularly great resume. I could see them being ahead and i could see them being behind. Coin flip imo. The big 12 is total dogshit this year. Oklahoma has looked like real shit against some really, really bad teams too. All 3 teams have flaws and warts.
None of them have a legit gripe if they get left out.
at least Michigan is finally going to catch up to ND this year as far as conference title games played in.
Only problem ND played in a conference one year and played for a title that year.
Big 10 has had a conference title game for 11 years now and this will be the first one they play in.
Well done.
That’s because they play real teams EVERY year. Not a one/done like ND. Let’s see how ND would do playing OSU, etc each year
Something ND knows nothing about.
Then how do you explain Notre Dame having a more difficult schedule most years than Michigan?
Or do facts not matter to you?
I'm fairly confident Notre Dame could pull off what Harbaugh has done at Michigan against big teams. Because just having a pulse before today would have been the same as what Harbaugh has done.

One win against OSU and you guys all have amnesia
Well maybe if the pussies joined the conference, we could actually see what they could do.
But they can’t, they would lose so much money. And the hit the “brand” would take!!
They got Caleb Williams on 4th and 10. Their playoff chances are still alive and well
As well it should. Beating the #10 team should boost their chances over teams who don’t play top competition. Or independent teams who don’t have any signature wins…
1. Cincinnati is in if they win next week
2. Alabama is out if they lose next week to Georgia
3. Oklahoma State passes Notre Dame if they win next week
1. Cincinnati is in if they win next week
2. Alabama is out if they lose next week to Georgia
3. Oklahoma State passes Notre Dame if they win next week
Agree with all this. As a UM fan I’m hoping for anyone except Bama in the first round of the playoffs.

As a Michigan fan I’m rooting for Georgia next week. If Alabama, Michigan and Oklahoma State wins I can see a scenario where the top 4 are:
1. Alabama
2. Michigan
3. Georgia
4. Oklahoma State
I think Cincinnati will get screwed if Alabama wins.
I don't see 'Bama beating UGA in ATL. Does a two win 'Bama team make it over a 11-1 ND or a possible 12-1 OK State team?
If 'Bama loses & OK State wins, it should be 1) Georgia, 2) Michigan (assuming UM beats Iowa), Cincy (assuming they win), & OK State.
I don’t see Bama winning either. Georgia is firing on all cylinders and it’s a home game for them.
I know Notre Dame fans don’t want to hear this but not playing a conference championship game next week will screw them. If Alabama loses, one of Cincinnati, Oklahoma state, or Michigan will need to lose for ND to have a spot in the top 4.
LB having a phenomenal year. Has 2.5 sacks and 3.5 TFL against Texas A&M last night. Might have passed Devin Lloyd as the best LB in the draft and a possible top 10 pick.
I don’t have a dog in this race but how does anyone on the planet look at the schedules and come away thinking ND played a tougher schedule than Michigan? Come on now. ND’s best win was Wisconsin. Michigan beat them too. They also played Michigan State and Penn State, both of which are likely far better than anyone else on NDs schedule outside of Cincy and Wisconsin. I also think Ohio State is far better than Cincy and would curb stomp them if they had played, but I understand that’s not provable.
Michigan didn’t play a murders row schedule but it’s far better than what Norte Dame played on a weekly basis.
I might stand corrected. I just checked out a couple of sites and one had Michigan having 4th hardest while ND was 16. But another had ND 15th & Michigan in the 30s.
I am not trying to take anything away from Michigan. They're a damn good team. I just get a little annoyed when I hear-year after year-that ND doesn't play anyone. It is an absurd narrative.
schedule don't play up to standards. USC should be a perennial top 10 team. NC was top ten last year. Florida State same deal. Stanford. Virginia Tech.
I think they have always played a competitive schedule. It is not SEC West but even that conference has times where teams fall off.

Some of that isn’t Norte Dames fault. They schedule teams years in advance. It’s not their fault teams like USC, Stanford, Florida State, etc have fallen off the map

I am under no illusions ND gets in absent a lot of chaos next weekend, which is entirely possible.
It would be a different situation if they were in a conference.
The conference thing is a bit overhyped. I've heard that ND doesn't have rivals in a conference like SEC, ACC and Big 10. But they play a part ACC schedule and teams they have played against for decades. What team that they play does not circle ND on the calendar each year?
And each team has "patsies" on its schedule - basically practice weeks.
Yes it is hard to dispute OSU-UM(especially), Alabama- Auburn, Alabama Georgia are bigtime rivalries or OK -OK St.
I wouldn't mind ND in the ACC, but it would be hard for them to give up USC, Perdue and Navy(which they will never do). They already play Georgia Tech, and playing against FSU, Miami, NC, VA each year would be fine by me.
But would that enhance their standing with the CFP committee?

This is right. I'm not an ND guy, but they absolutely try to make a very competitive schedule. Unfortunately for them, USC, Stanford, VT, FSU have performed poorly. Otherwise, those are seriously good brand names - typically.
Parts of these schedules are made years in advance. So if you schedule a game against team X when team X is good, that doesn't mean team X will be as good when you actually play.

It depends. If Alabama loses to Georgia (likely) and Oklahoma State loses to Baylor (50-50 chance), ND gets in the playoff while sitting on the couch.
Don't overlook Iowa vs. Michigan either. Its a tough rebound for Michigan emotionally after beating their biggest rival for the first time in a big spot in 20+ years. I definitely could see Iowa winning, because they're no slouches. They're a 10 win team
Bama didnt look good today but they are still the only team who can beat Georgia because Saban can neutralize a game himself.
ND and Michigan wouldnt score offensively against Georgia
Beating their in state rival - who is ranked 10th, btw - with one loss should somehow be ranked behind ND? In what world does that make sense?
Who does Michigan even have to play in the title game now? Iowa? Ohh that's so difficult I have no idea how they'll ever survive that game
really good game

Iowa is 10-2. It would actually be a better win than anything Notre Dame has

OSU. Fucking autocorrect.
But go ahead and deflect from the argument that ND doesn’t belong in thr top 4.
Keep deflecting, asshole. Sure sign of someone badly losing an argument…

They must have missed the memo about playing a real schedule for that season. Two cupcakes
Next year they go to columbus and have clemson at home.
Please let me know what "real schedule" means. Because they have 2 of the top 3 programs of the last decade on their schedule the next 2 years.
Do they need to play Bama too to make it a real schedule?
That 1st down throw needed to be fired in there. He had him but put too much air under it
Shocked the ref didnt call that PI. I like that it wasnt but its almost always called.

So when they have (at least) two losses in 2022 and 2023 will you shut the fuck up?
I still don’t know what the hell that has to do with the cupcake schedule they had this year?

well....if houston beats cincy, baylor beats ok st and georgia beats bama you could see a michigan-notre dame game bigger than no other before it
And when ND loses to those teams, we better not hear any whining from ND fans…
