Whatever happens in the Alabama game.

Joe Beckwith : 11/27/2021 7:26 pm
Alabama does not deserve to be in the final 4 CFB .
They will be, because of their reputation
But they don’t deserve it.
agreed.
outeiroj : 11/27/2021 7:29 pm : link
I expect them to lose to georgia, yet somehow they will still make it in as a 2 loss team.
I agree
Mark from Jersey : 11/27/2021 7:43 pm : link
I would have Notre Dame and OSU ahead of them
Oh please...
bw in dc : 11/27/2021 7:47 pm : link
Bama would be a favorite against ANY other team in the country either home or away - right now except Georgia.

As long as they win, they are in.

I agree not
Lines of Scrimmage : 11/27/2021 7:47 pm : link
The power run game team they normally have.

10-1 SEC West. Let’s see what kind of game they give Georgia. I smelling a upset coming.

Bama is beating Georgia...

class, and OSU got their asses kicked on both sides of the ball today. Alabama won by the skin of their teeth, but they still won an always tough rivalry game.

Either way might be the game of the year.
hard to argue OSU is a top 4 team
islander1 : 11/27/2021 8:01 pm : link
their only calling card is that absolute pasting of MSU last week. Worse, I feel like Oregon (currently at 11) is really overvalued.

Lame whine. They beat who was put in front of them and have looked dominant the past 3 or 4 games. Typical BS statement by haters. Think Cincinnati wants to play them again? I doubt it.

Yes, this is a rebuild year for them but they have played extremely well.

Georgia always chokes vs Alabama and I will not be surprised when it happens again.

Well, Bama scored 38 points against A&M. And A&M is third in the nation in PPG allowed at 15.

Georgia has had a great year. Bama is definitely the underdog. But they can match-up athlete to athlete. And I'll take Bama's coaching staff over Georgia's anyday.
Alabama may not deserve it

That’s a given. They should be #2 now.
I really don’t think anyone is beating Georgia
Leg of Theismann : 11/27/2021 9:02 pm : link
That team is flat out dominant— a la 2020 Alabama or 2019 LSU. Just head and shoulders above every other team. This is their year. All the other decisions about who will fill out 2 through 4 is just a formality IMO.
Cincy has a great QB

Georgia pounds offenses into submission. Knock me over with a feather if they are not national champs. And it won’t be hard. They will crush everyone they meet.
Bama doesn’t make it if they lose to Georgia

No chance. Not sure who will instead but it won’t be Bama.

widmerseyebrow : 11/27/2021 9:42 pm : link
Not saying Bama will beat Georgia, but I think a lot of people are looking at the Auburn score without realizing Bama played without their top receiver for most of the game.
I agree Alabam does not "deserve" top four
Vanzetti : 11/27/2021 9:44 pm : link
But then they will win the national championship anyway
How is Alabama O-line
M.S. : 11/27/2021 9:44 pm : link

Gonna keep Georgia out of the backfield?
I know all major teams
Joe Beckwith : 11/27/2021 9:52 pm : link
Have jello opponents on their schedule, and Alabama does have some quality wins, but Mercer, So. miss, and NMexico State, and 3 of their last 4 games have been major challenges, including only 1 ranked.

As I said they likely get in, even losing to Georgia, and will probably be a 2-3 vs Cincinnati, which then puts them in the Championship.
If they beat Ga, they get the 1, Cincy the 4, and Ga. gets the 3( Michigan?).
The Committee is pretty consistent honoring Alabama.

That Georgia Defense is just too good. I think its their year. We will see. My hope is no Clemson (def yes) and no Alabama (close) Final 4 this year.
Bama has one loss
Breeze_94 : 11/27/2021 11:07 pm : link
A night game at Kyle Field against a very good A&M team. A&M played their best game all year.

Alabama won ugly today but they won. Auburn always plays them tough, especially at home. They found a way to win, like good teams do.

Right now, Bama is top 4. If the game vs UGA is close, I think they are worthy.

Current rankings, IMO

1. UGA
2. Michigan
3. Bama
4. Cincy
5. ND
6. Winner of OU/OkState
eh
Banks : 11/27/2021 11:08 pm : link
I disagree. Removing them just because they aren't as dominant as usual makes no sense to me. I think they'd beat Notre Dame, Mich, and either Oklahoma convincingly. I'm not sure any of those teams even beat Ole Miss.

You could use the argument that the only team the irish lost to is the last undefeated team by only a touchdown. If alabama loses to georgia I would be highway roberry if they left the irish out because they would be kicked out by a 2 loss team
Most likely Georgia’s year despite the doubts

Still have to play the games but enough of cracks showing in all the other teams including Bama that it gives me fairly reasonable confidence.

Tight End in football, go pull up clips of Bowers from UGA. The kid is superb at receiving, blocking, and beating both man and zone defenses.

Georgia is the one team I'd give ND no shot to beat. ND could beat Michigan & 'Bama.

I think the Dawgs smoke 'Bama next weekend in ATL.
I am a big ND fan but
Rick in Dallas : 11/28/2021 7:20 am : link
ND would get smoked by Bama and Michigan in the playoffs.
I also think Qkla St will be ranked higher than ND in this weeks ranking.

Why would ND be smoked by either Michigan or Alabama? ND is a damn good team. You don't go 11-1 by accident.
I have not seen much of Michigan other than

yesterday but I was really impressed their lines. I like to see them play Georgia in the playoffs. Based on yesterday I think they can match up.

Alabama just does not have the normal outstanding OL and it seems a little late in the game to fix it. I mentioned before but Cincy will have a battle next week so that may open a spot.

Bama's problem hasn't been their offense. It's been their defense, actually.

Until yesterday...
There are still so many possibilities for the final Top 4
BrianLeonard23 : 11/28/2021 9:12 am : link
I still think a 2-loss Alabama can get in as the #4 depending on how Michigan, and Cincinnati do in their CC games.

IMO
Georgia is in no matter what
Alabama is in almost definitely
Michigan is in with CC and 1 loss
Cincinnati is in with CC and 0 losses
Oklahoma State can get in with CC and 1 loss
Notre Dame with 1 loss (H2H vs Cincinnati) and a weak schedule is virtually out
Oklahoma and Ohio State are out
Georgia has clearly been the best team thus far.
Crispino : 11/28/2021 9:32 am : link
Great defense. But…..not sure I like Kirby Smart in a big spot. Georgia should win, but I won’t be at all surprised if Saban figures out a way to beat them.

Bama belongs in the playoff and will give Michigan or Georgia a better game than ND or Cinci.

Lines of Scrimmage : 11/28/2021 10:51 am : link
Your way off assessing Alabama’s OL imo. This is a really poor running game for them. That is why they have won. The passing attack is built off it. The offense does not have near the physicality as years past.

Don’t look at overall stats. Look when they play a physical defense.

Georgia and Michigan are similar in a few ways: excellent OL and DL, running games as the center of the offense, game manager QBs. I think UGA is at least a level, maybe two above Michigan (and likely everyone else). If the Michigan that beat Ohio State showed up against Georgia in a hypothetical playoff game that would be interesting.

Michigan has to beat Iowa first. They’re no pushover as a 10 win team. Iowa has a punchers chance
Are there any teams
The Dude : 11/28/2021 11:17 am : link

This Bama team is not the usual Bama team
gmenrule : 11/28/2021 11:52 am : link
they have no defense and really don't scare you. UGA should win by 2 TDs or more - if they keep their foot on the gas pedal. I really hope Bama gets crushed ... but Saban will find a way to prevent that from happening. If Auburn had Bo Nix, or scored 3 points in the second half, they beat Bama. This is the Dawgs year for a Nattie !

Lol, yeah, you know it's an objective opinion when it's not from "haters".

They've beaten no one worth a damn. Period. Neither has Concy, but they haven't lost.

Cry less, and think more.
I think Auburn gave that game away
TJ : 11/28/2021 6:31 pm : link
I'm completely baffled by the way they stifled Bama offense for 3.75 quarters then suddenly gave up on pressuring the qb and played a prevent-dont-lose scheme that lost the game for them. I understand it's not the first game this season they've given away late.
Anyway Bama won but they were very very lucky their opponent screwed up so badlly

I'm not assessing their OL. I'm assessing what their problem has been this year. And it's been their D. They gave up 29 to FL, 38 to A&M, and 35 to Arkansas.

On offense, they are averaging 42+ PPG. That's 5th in the country.
