In B, C, and D games! I may go watch my alma mater Tioga Center since it’s inside this week. If not, I’ll stream it again. Since Stanford and the Giants stink this year, it’s my only hope to save the football season!

Go Section 4!

Did you go to Stanford?

That would make you the smartest one on this Board... by far! (:-)
Ha!

Undergrad at RPI (only Division 1 in hockey), grad school at Stanford. Definitely not the smartest, but maybe the nerdiest!
Maine-Endwell’s a curious story this season,
Beezer : 11/28/2021 9:26 am : link
in that they had their record scrubbed with a game or two left. Didn’t matter since the numbers of teams were so small. They walked through sectionals.

Reason for the penalty: ineligible player.

Fair play to you, Karen! As sports director at my school, went up to RPI to broadcast college hockey in the middle of winter--when RPI was a constant force, along with Clarkson, BU, BC, Cornell, et al. This was before all those schools in the Upper Mid-west and Rocky Mt. states crashed the college hockey party. Fie on them!

Welp, this was my hardest call. I follow Pleasantville since they are Section One, and they won it all back in 2017, and they have an unbelievable all-purpose running back in Daniel Picart! Translation: they might beat M-E, but I'm picking against them.

The good old days in college hockey! The ECAC ruled! Clarkson was RPI’s biggest rival and there was the Big Red freakout when RPI played Cornell. RPI won it all in 1985 just after I left. Darn those “outsiders” ruining the good times we had going back then!
Dingo dango! Five--5, that is--

Section 1 schools in the Semis, all of them in my officiating bailiwicks (but not American football).

M.S., you were spot on in your Carmel prediction, they've been on a romp through Sections and Regionals, and you're saying it will take them to NYS Champs.

Weird, how Somers and Rye met in the Semis, two such different schools/towns despite being less than 30 miles distant.

Go Panthers!

Indeed they were, if anyone had mentioned Denver, NDakState, St. Cloud, Wisc. or MSU, it would have beeen, 'Who, what?' And a belly laugh.

When Ken Dryden played at Cornell, under Ned Harkness, of course--a bit before your time, but he was legendary, Harkness was--he was called the Spider because he was so big, he obliterated the 6x4, in a harbinger of today's mammoth NHL goalies.

So, at end of the day, M-E would qualify for Sectionals/States with a 1-0 record? This is asterisk worthy. Ahh, now it makes sense why the Beezer knew this, just outside Binghamton.

M.S., same question for you that I asked last w/e, where/when are the Finals being played?

Very unusual regarding Somers-Rye!

In regard to Carmel, I "think" Buffalo Bennett/Olmstead might be their toughest opponent all season... they are averaging an eye-popping 41 points a game. But I just don't see them prevailing over Carmel. Carmel can match their offense and I'm pretty sure Carmel is stingier on defense. Carmel's LOS play is a thing of beauty, both sides of the ball. They just impose their will.

Don't want to say it comes down to one player, but Pleasantville's Daniel Picart means everything to the team. If I'm Maine-Endwell, I would bird-dog him with two players all over the field. Pleasantville will go as far as Daniel Picart can take them!

yes, they run the wildcat with him, right? That's about all I know but since daughter, SIL and three grandkids live there I'm rooting for them.

Wildcat for sure. Also plays RB and can flank out as a WR. I also believe he returns punts.

I'm a Maine-Endwell graduate and coached there. Was offered a job teaching/coaching at Tioga Center, but left for Florida. Good luck to all teams!
