NFT: Kluber to Rays…

Mike in St. Louis : 11/28/2021 11:25 am
$8 million, incentives can take it to $13 million…

Not sure if Yanks wanted him back but certainly not at that price
if he's healthy and good
Giantsfan79 : 11/28/2021 11:29 am : link
they'll flip him at the trade deadline for a bunch of prospects even if they are playoff bound.
Way tooooo much $$$

For someone who never plays.
If the Rays are willing to offer that kind of money
Metnut : 11/28/2021 11:56 am : link

Yep, that is cheap money for a starter. And the Yanks are going to replace him with ????

The guy made a grand total of 16 starts this season. You really think that’s irreplaceable? Of course you don’t. You don’t believe anything you post. Ever. If the Yanks signed him to that deal you’d be bitching about hitching their wagons to an injury prone player once again. Wash, rinse, repeat for ole HomerJones45. Not happy unless he’s bitching about something. Anything.

What a life…

The problem with what you’re saying is that TB has one of the smartest organizations in the game and even better when it comes to pitching. If it was anybody else, I would understand the criticism. Not them.
Suddenly the Rays are spending money.

That doesn't make them smart. What they did with Wander was just plain dumb. They should have waited for his first arb year to sign him to a long term deal and it probably wouldn't have cost them much more even if he is a bona fide superstar. If it turns out instead that he's a flash in the pan or he's injury prone, they're on the hook for millions.

As for Kluber, I doubt he had any other offers. At best they got themselves and injury prone slow starter. The Yankees did well to let him go.

Lol, the Franco deal is going to be a steal for them
ask yourself
RasputinPrime : 11/28/2021 2:43 pm : link
how much a 10 year deal with Judge five years ago would have averaged out to.

Wander deal was flat-out robbing his family of Wander Franco's
Kluber can go. But I wanted the Yanks to go after Kevin Gausman

His signing with the Blue Jays makes Jays better and the AL East that much tougher to win.
