RIP a lot of fantasy teams. More evidence that you don't put too many resources into a RB
No surprise

Watch out...here come the Giants for that Wild Card!

that's a lot of muscle mass on a small frame, due to, ahem, vitamins. Plus the workload on a back his size was unsustainable.
Cautionary tale

Who drafts a RB top 10 anymore anyway?

(Yes we all know the answer)

FWIW drafting and paying a 2nd contract are 2 different things
dancing blue bear : 11/29/2021 2:13 pm : link
CMC was worth it the 1st four years. didn't miss a game
(barely missed a play) and was a game changer.

Same with zeke. I actually really like the 1st round RB. You get the best 5 years (6 or 7 with a FT) for controlled cost

As for 2nd contract...would you not have given cook? kamara? is henry not worth it since he got injured?

Everyone gets injured in the NFL. RBs take some extra abuse, but it's luck. when not if. It sucks but it's a reality. Look at our WRs? KT, brand new, outta the box, can't stay on the field

Surely there must be an exception for a RB who was touched by the hand of god.

No more guarantees in his contract so Panthers could let him go or trade him away without dead money impact.

so you are suggesting not to draft an RB in the top 10 in fantasy football??
WOW!

Building a team around a RB is problematic? Who could have ever predicted that?!
Another great acquisition...

It doesn't matter where they're drafted
giantBCP : 11/29/2021 3:42 pm : link
It matters how much money they make in relation to their performance. You need to get value for your cap dollars, whether it's in the draft or in free agency. Draft position might as well be an arbitrary number.

The thing that set this franchise back the most are the high priced free agents (Golladay and Solder) that haven't panned out.

Why would the Texans do that? Maybe before he was paid and hurt but not now. They want picks only, in all likelihood.

Really.

What position doesn't get hurt? Anyone care to offer one up?

I have him and I'm winless with him and undefeated without him.

I think I'm good. LOL!!!

The data is pretty clear running backs have shorter careers and higher injury rates.

Keep in mind — CMC hasn’t even reached his extension years. He’s still in year five.

Tongue in cheek. I believe CM was DG's last first round pick before he was fired from Charlotte.

So his top selections in the 2017 and 2018 were RBs.

Can't make it up...

Gettleman may go down as having drafted the last TWO top ten RBs ever.

Between CMC and Barkley you have 2 great, 2 good, and a bunch of OK seasons.

Your probably want to get at least that much out of one guy picked in the top 10, let alone two.

Wait, DG drafted CM? I must have blanked on that.
