The Jets have Seattle's 1st rd pick in the Jamal Adams trade which is #4 and they own the #5 pick. The Giants currently own the #6 pick and the #7 pick (via the trade with Chicago last April).
They should trade one of those picks, move down to the middle of the first and get at least a 2nd and a 3rd. They could still get a premium player at 6 or 7 and they'd have around 11 picks, which would let them invest several early picks in the O line.
Yes, I'm available to interview for the soon-to-be-open GM job.
RE: RE: I wonder if the Eagles go all in trying to trade for Watson
I would think that makes sense - assuming he's clear
I know they aren't afraid to go after Watson which angers me because we all know the Giants are scared shitless of even entertaining the very notion.
If Watson is NFL playable by next year, and we will probably(?) know full on whether he or isn't by Spring 2022, the Giants should be all over Watson. But we know they won't.

Good, you're hired but only if you go after difference makers. Enough with the quantity and see hole fill hole thing. Get me super stars or difference makers. Not picks. Difference makers.

I am all for this idea but we should aim for a future #1.
This is a weak QB class and by kicking a first back a year gives you assets to go get a QB the following year when Jone's deal is up.
Similar to the Bears trade last year

Harder to get teams to trade up in a weak year though. Takes two to tango. Hopefully someone falls in love with a QB that the Giants don't regret passing on themselves.
RE: Whatever they do, they need to nail those picks
Unless you have a a willing Partner or two who have needs. Also, we don’t know who will be running the draft and their reputations assuming DG retires.
RE: RE: Whatever they do, they need to nail those picks
I don't know about that. I do think center is a hugely undervalued position.
Linderbaum would be tremendous. Could then move Gates to Guard and have 3 studs on your line with Thomas, plus whomever else you target in rounds 2 or 3.
Don't think the Giants take a MIKE LB (as good as he is) when we need Edge help so desperately. Assuming Thibodeaux and Hutchinson are gone, I suspect Karlaftis will be high on the board. I see them taking Hamilton before Lloyd.

Brugler gave some overall notes on the top ten in that piece:

I wouldn’t call the 2022 NFL Draft a bad draft.
There are plenty of first-round-caliber players, and the depth at certain positions will stretch well into Day 3 on draft weekend. However, something that has been echoed by evaluators around the NFL is the lack of elite-level talent at the top. Most drafts don’t have 10 prospects considered no-brainers for the top-10 picks, but this year’s class doesn’t have more than one or two, according to feedback from some NFL scouts.
Maybe hindsight will prove that opinion to be silly. Maybe there is a T.J. Watt or Aaron Donald or Patrick Mahomes in this class — players who weren’t considered slam-dunk top-10 picks pre-draft but obviously proved that assessment wrong in retrospect.
Despite the perceived lack of top-tier talent, 10 players must go in the top 10, starting with an interesting decision for the Detroit Lions, who currently own the No. 1 overall pick. The volatility at the top of draft boards from team to team will be the story of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Really would love to see the Bears pick move into the top 4 to secure one of the top DEs or OTs. Would be hard to jump Houston, Detroit, Jets and Jags though...

The Jets play the Jags and Dolphins (we can hope). Seahawks play Bears, Lions and Texans. The Bears will win at least one more (Lions), and maybe 3, so if we want one of the picks to be in the top three or four we need to lose out, including to the Bears.
Hopefully they get blown out in both and head into the final 4 games in turmoil. We need to beat them, hope Seattle gets a boost from their home crowd, and the Vikings are in the playoff hunt and need to win both of their games remaining with Chicago.
This far in advance? Hell no. We have decent shots of winning against Miami, Chicago and all three NFC East teams. Only long shot is probably at the Chargers.
Root for your team to win and for the Bears to lose out. I’d be thrilled with picks 5 from Chicago plus ours at 10-15th!

I disagree. Barring an over-the-top offer I think you make the two top 10 picks.
The fan obsession with trading down is silly. They have enough picks. They have 2 in the top 10. Make the damn selections.
the sequence will fall that way, but it’ll be some gaps between the picks with a possibility of a current 4 or 5 winning team locking in while the Giants win 2 more + and end up at 10-12.
Whoever the new GM is: just draft well at that spot.
I don't know about that. I do think center is a hugely undervalued position.
I can’t see an undersized center going in the top ten. Would be shocked if he was a pick that early. There is about 4 or 5 premium picks in the draft after that it’s about the same 6-19. Would like to see one of the picks move up, and trade back the other.
They had AVT rated higher than Slater in last year's draft according to BBI insiders. Now that's malpractice!!!
With this current Giants group running the draft I have no confidence they pick the best players next April.

Agreed that Watson is better than Wilson, would be a good idea.
Really good spot for jets to fill some holes.

because watching the premium picks trio of SB/Jones/Thomas is largely why I'm so down on NYG's immediate and near future.
No doubt. DG blowing the decision on franchise QB and #2 overall look to be massive setbacks.
What is wrong with Thomas?

Not to mention watching Micah Parsons in Dallas -we sure as hell better hit with the Chi pick.
If it turns out to be Neal or Hutchinson - then yes, well worth it.
6. LB Devin Lloyd, Utah
7. OC Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa
