NFT: Otis Anderson Jr. is not Ottis Anderson's son

KDavies : 11/30/2021 1:25 pm
thought this was an interesting story. Former UCF RB and NFL player Otis Anderson Jr. was shot and killed by his father, along with his mother. My heart dropped when I saw that, and I thought to myself, isn't it Ottis with two "Ts"? Fortunately the end of the article had assurances that Otis Anderson Jr. was not the son of the Ottis Anderson.

Figured I would post this in case anybody else came across an article on this and worried that Ottis Anderson was a murderer. Though he did go by O.J., he has not killed anyone.

they pointed that out many games. At first I thought he was his son based on the name and the fact he played for a college in Florida. I had not heard this news until now. Very sad. He was fun to watch at UCF. RIP
He was OJ with the Cardinals

By the time he came to the Giants he had let it be known he wanted to called Ottis.

He fell to obscurity in mid career with little playing time. A young Giant, I don’t remember who, once asked him “Are you related to that OJ Anderson who used to play for the Cardinals?“
Holy Crap...Damn.

Ladd McConkey, the dynamic WR for the Georgia Bulldogs looks a lot like former Giants WR Phil McConkey, but there is no relation.

My phone is blowing up. I am not the father of the young man who played for UCF and was killed by his father. I only have daughters. It is a tragic situation and I pray, as should all of you, for his mother and the rest of his family. He was gifted! Rest well young man

Mark Ingram. I believe Anderson told the story in the 1990 Giants America's Game episode.
