(Shrug shoulders)...as ND fan, I thought they'd be 6. But all ND needs is a 'Bama loss (probable) & then either Michigan, OK State, or the Bearcats to lose to jump into CFP. Of course we don't have a HC @ the moment so...ND!
Do I think Michigan, OK State, or Cincy loses? 'Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself.'
'Bama being 3 is a joke. This isn't a vintage 'Bama team. I wish the committee would just acknowledge that.
Georgia is in even if they lose to Alabama. Michigan is likely in even with a loss to Iowa. Alabama is out with a loss unless Cincy loses. Cincy is in with a win. Ok State is in with a win and a Cincy or Alabama loss. Notre Dame is probably the in with an Alabama and Cincy loss.
CFP committee chairman says that the lack of a player or coach

Disagree with Michigan being in 100%. They have to beat Iowa to ensure it
I agree not a vintage team but the QB is outstanding and a gamer. The expectations are almost unfair for them . The SEC West is no joke and they have several quality wins. I think they beat Georgia. One thing Georgia has experienced is pressure of a close game this year.
We'll agree to disagree. I think UGA takes care of them...something like 34-20. We'll find out Saturday. I already told the wife I'm in man cave Saturday from noon to potentially midnight, Haha.
In if the lose a highly contested game to Georgia especially with Kelly gone.
But this has to be predicated on either Michigan, OK State, or Cincy losing? No way all three win, 'Bama loses, & somehow a 11-2 'Bama team gets into CFP? Biden might have to call in the National Guard in multiple states.

I’m just saying two loss Bama team will be strongly considered over Notre Dame if the Georgia game is to the wire. Other things will have to happen as. No NG.. I don’t want them deployed to the wrong states.
is OK state passing Cincy even if they both win. I don't think it would happen, but the committee has moved things around in the past. Beating Baylor would be a good win
Bama gets in with a loss. Their record isn't that impressive this year and I don't think the committee would want a back to back rematch against Georgia
No team has been close to Georgia. Every game was over at half. A epic game where Bama losses I see some on the committee buying in. Other things have to happen but Bama is a huge draw overall.
I’m happy with new blood in but I can see the board being enticed.

The Clemson game wasn't over at the half. It went down to the end. Georgia won 10-3 with both teams only scoring 3 in the 2nd half. Georgia didn't score in the 4th quarter.
Georgia and Cincy to win. A cincy loss doesnt help. And then still probably 2 losses out of the other 3
I don't see any scenario where ND leap OK St (assuming both win their games). Which means they need two of Michigan, Cincy, and Alabama to lose and it might not be enough if its Michigan that's one of the losses.
Should have lost to a bad Auburn team with an injured backup QB. What exactly was their signature win.
They have more quality wins than OK St, and definitely more than ND. Missippi, A&M, and Arkansas are quality wins and that's not even counting the Auburn game which is usually close by nature.
I get being tired of Alabama but they've done more than the other two teams (and likely Cincy too but their clean sheet is keeping them in which I get, but is kinda lame).
but Bama beating the 8th ranked BCS team is a signature win. Michigan beat the 7th rated team and Cincy beat the 6th rated team.
ND has no signature wins. Their best win was against Wisconsin who is terrible. Its not their fault though. I mean they scheduled typically very good opponents that all had a bad year.
is getting old. Since the end of the BCS and the infamous "Notre Dame" rule. This crap was suppose to stop
Every year they play a powder puff schedule and the NCAA drops to their knees with tongues out trying to find a way to get them in the top 4.
Before last weekend. Their opponents (Minus Cincinnati who they lost to) were 36 and 36. Playing such powerhouses like Navy, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and finishing of with Stanford last weekend.
How anyone can even consider the Irish is beyond me.
Except this is all about money and ND will pull in more than say Oklahoma State or Cincinnati.
I am in the minority but Independents should be bowl eligible but not National Championship eligible. At least until there is a true playoff which I think should be 16 teams.

Not sure you can call A&M a "quality win" for Bama.
You can no fucking clue what you're talking about in terms of ND & their 'powder puff' schedule. None. Just STFU.
Whatever man.
Let me add that a fair majority of their fans blow a gasket whenever their precious Irish are called out for what they are.
Lets take a look at 2021
Florida State 5-7
Toledo 7-5
Purdue 8-4
Wisconsin 8-4
Cincinnati 12-0 (Only Loss)
Virginia Tech 6-6
USC 4-7
North Carolina 6-6
Navy 3-8
Virginia 6-6
Georgia Tech 3-9
Stanford 3-9
Including 12 - 0 Cincy that makes their opponents overall record at 71 win and 63 losses.
Remove Cincy. 59 and 63
Yeah.... that is on helluva non-powderpuff schedule that deserves a top 4 seed.
To top it off in 2020 they joined the ACC. Wonder why? It wouldn't be because there was only one team that could challenge them?
They could have just have easily joined the SEC but nope. Why go get your head pounded against equal or better teams for the majority of the season when they can play against Clemson once and then beat up on the rest of the weak conference the rest of the year.

They joined the ACC in 2020 because they're already in the ACC for other sports.
They do their schedule years in advance genius. How the hell is ND supposed to foresee how their opponents are going to be a decade plus? Oh yeah...next year they open at OSU and host Clemson. 'Powder puff' right? Again...STFU. You have no clue WFT you're talking about.

It's amazing how many people don't understand this. People will always find a way to hate on ND.

If I actually cared I would take the time to pull up the last 5 years of their scheduling. The pattern is there.
Sure the schedules are done in advance but when you schedule the same group of weak teams every or alternating years. What else is expected. Sure, one or two teams may have a decent season or two every now and then but in most cases. The weak remain the weak. Constantly beating up on the Georgia Tech, Virginia, NC State, Duke, Pitt, Syracuse, Navy and so on.
If any particular season they happen to play a lot of teams that are actually good. So be it. They should be ranked accordingly. Ranking them as a top team when the play and beat weak opponents is just nonsense. Whether the schedule was made in 1980 or July.
The old system had a bloody Notre Dame rule written right into it. It now just continues without it being in writing.
So whatever.
Pretty simple.
JOIN A REAL CONFERENCE. I am sure that the BigTen or SEC would be happy to have them. Go get pounded 5 or 6 weeks of the season against schools that can compete even when they have mediocre years and then come talk.
They will not though. They keep getting their 15 million a year and they get the choice of whatever weak teams they want to beat up on and the NCAA will keep finding ways to try an get them into the top four despite their weak schedule.
their schedule has been a relative cakewalk compared to everyone not named Cincinnati. They don't deserve to be in the top 4 right now, don't see how its even debatable. They need atleast 2 losses in the top 4 to have a shot and if even 1 of them is Georgia or Michigan they won't/shouldn't make it.
Do I think Michigan, OK State, or Cincy loses? 'Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself.'

I agree, but Cincinnati has the home field edge. Houston could be playing in some cold, adverse weather which could be a factor
Really? Seems a bit meddling...

Uh...who is arguing this?

But this Georgia mania is making me re-think that... ;)
Go Bama.
Such a good point about Holgorsen, He is a very underrated HC.

Go Bama.
Puke on this post if I could.
I respect Bama and Saban a lot, but you root against evil empires, like the Patriots has become. Georgia is the good story this year.
You can think better than this. :- )

2020...4.
2021...2.
But yes...they play a 'powder puff' schedule.
And next year they open at The Horseshoe, host Clemson, & travel out to LA to face a newly led Trojans team.
