Maybe not better off.
But "ok".
Sure, his last appearance against a stellar Dallas defense had a bobbled snap and an interception and only a field goal if I remember correctly.
But he also was thrust into the game and still showed some nice foot work inside the pocket and awareness and threw some pretty damn good deep passes and even had that crazy rush towards the end zone that made me think we were gunna be going to QB #3 but he popped up and was ready for more.
Yeah, I know, he has a past. And it isn't full of highlights. But he also has a future and I enjoy being oblivious to the past and cling to hope regarding his few shining moments against the Cowboys.
Crucify me for that. I think he will step up.
I think he has the ability to hand us another reason to be happy next Monday and roll into LA winning two in a row.
He and Toney had some magic.
I have no problem imagining Glennon being = or > Jones in production.
I agree with this. Just let Fromm play. It’s a lottery ticket.
Not a huge move, Green Bay probably moves 8 if Rodgers is out, but clearly the market prefers Jones and thinks this is a downgrade.

If Jones is out any significant amount of time, given Glennon's history, there's a decent chance Fromm starts a game or two before it's over.
Which would explain why I am in my current situation in life.
Which isn't grandeur.

The news probably depresses the NYG fan betting, have to up the spread to get them back in.

About 3 points, probably will move more when Jones is confirmed out.

That’s not why lines move. Vegas keeps lines all the time when there’s a ton of money on one side. The idea that they go for 50/50 is the biggest misconception

No argument re: What we have with Jones. I don’t think he’s the guy. I expect Glennon to be able to move the ball as well as DJ could. I’m more concerned, ironically, about Glennon’s penchant for turnovers compared to Jones. He’s been notoriously sloppy with the ball - was an issue in Chicago and Jax. FWIW, Jones has been solid in protecting the football this year. I expect 2 giveaways from Glennon on Sunday and that’s concerning in a likely tight game.
On the topic of QB's, this is possibly the worst year in my lifetime to need a QB...none of these college QB's impress me. Would not spend a first on any of them.
He may not start but he will back up.
With only 6 games left in the season my hope is that DJ's neck strain is not serious. He is one tough dude.We shall see if he is OK.
As of now I would not offer DJ the 5th year option that is due next May. I'm sure the Giants will probably keep him next year as their starting QB.
Defense had 5 sacks led by first round pick Jaelan Phillips who was drafted just before we grabbed Toney. They had 11 hits on the QB and a few interceptions as well. Xavien Howard is playing like a shut-down corner and their rookie Safety Jevon Holland is turning into a nice playmaker too.
Miami's defense is a very active blitzing team, particularly from the guys in the secondary. Glennon is going to have to move around somewhat and read the field well pre and post snap.
There should be opportunities to beat that blitz too but will need to be ready with some deeper shots and well-timed screens.
He's going to be a Giants next year.
They better bring in competition and it better be an open spot.
IF DJ wins it - so be it.
BUT the scholarship ends this year.
IMO...which is not a mandatory disclaimer on BBI now.
Next week if DJ is healthy....
I think the the Giants coaching staff have a decision to make.
Perhaps the scholarship ends this week.
Oh, wait...no I'm not.

Vegas keeps spreads in place sometimes so they can avoid a game getting circled, since that is even riskier than having lopsided action. For example, right now someone that may have already had Miami -3 can also get NYG +6, which basically gives the bettor a chance to win both sides while hedging down their risk to 10% of their original bet (assuming the line stayed at -110 as the spread moved).

Are you just going to copy and paste this into every thread about Jones?
I think it has gotten to the point where the majority on here are more concerned with "being right" then how the Giants actually perform. Kind of sad actually.
If stumbling to 6 wins is all 2021 is going to deliver, and in similar fashion to the previous 27 games, my perspective shifts to 2022 and how to build a better football team.
Yeah it's crazy. I just can't root for a loss, never... NOT ever.... lol
I just hope Mara finally realizes he needs to bring people into the operation with a clear vision of what we need to do going forward. Keep building. We have some good core players to build around but we need better people making decisions on draft, scouting and FA. The OL mess needs to be fixed, somehow someway. Thomas is the only player worth keeping on the current iteration being trotted out there from what I can see. Blow the rest of it up. I'm disgusted watching the rest of the NFC East OL play. Every team in the division has good to great blocking up front except for us. I'm so sick of it.
+1

Losing Jones isn't like losing Joe Montana. He's really nothing special. Alas, him not playing gives Mara more cover to bring him back for another year in '22.

I don't want to give the impression that I think Glennon is going to be this big spark. I don't know.
But I think he's a better pocket QB than Jones and he will survey the field much better. And I think he has a better arm. It's just whether he can execute the right option.
IMO? Zero.

How many QBs you guys think would have the giants above 500 with this OL and Garrets offensive system?
IMO? Zero.
Nobody? Not one QB in the NFL could have scratched out 2 more wins this season?

Maybe. I really think that this OL and lack of consistent running game would make any QB look like hot garbage. I think Jones is a middle of the road QB right now in this league. This line gets beat consistently by 4 and even 3 man rushes, and deals horribly with blitzes and stunts. And we see how Mahomes and Wilson are dealing with OL troubles in their current situations. I feel like this offense is broken and it starts with the OL. The injuries and lack of consistency with players are 2nd in line, and I think Garret should never call plays in this league again.

Have you ever seen Glennon play for any length of time. He is way to slow ( Remember when you guys were on that slow windup thing with Jones), Glennon is like a glacier, He is also rather inaccurate. There is a reason that NFL teams were only willing to let him start 15 games, Jones is far superior to Glennon, if he wasn't Glennon would be starting somewhere and nobody wanted him

Johnny - Not sure I disagree with any of these points other than the initial one. The top QBs could have scratched out a few more wins.
Jones misses plays fairly routinely...

Yeah I wouldn't argue that. The great ones know how to win. That's my biggest problem with Jones I think, he just can't put teams away. I can see Mahomes and Rodgers with a couple more wins. Not sure who else though... I think Brady would get killed behind this OL. Not sure who else really, I think this team would be right where it is regardless.

Yea and Kurt Warner was baggin groceries before he won a super bowl and would have sat on a bench if trent green never got hurt. And Tayloe Henieken was on a practice squad and going back to finish school
This BS circumstantial agrument from a jones-aholic . Are you bwicz dopple or something? Time and time again the league and scouting has shown its inability to evaluate talent.
THe reason is Glennon is where he is is because the Bears drafted Mitch Trubiski of all things and the Jaguars were going to draft Trev Lawrence. Understandable of the the Jville a head scratch for the bears.
I think JOnes and his supporters are really scared of what Glennon could be if this oline gives him time like they gave Jones at the start of the year/before Thomas got hurt. It is a jail break every down don't mater if Brady is back there or Juhnny Unitas
