Was garbage. Rangers looked great until that penalty, and the penalty kill was phenomenal. Flyers have all the momentum since, including a Rangers’ power play that looked like the Five Stooges out there.
Great to see Kakko continue his production, and it’s starting to look like Kreider is going to finally put together a 30 goal season, and probably blow by the 30 mark to maybe even hit 40. Igor looks excellent again, as always. Gotta finish killing off this penalty and close this game out.
Has to be Jack Campbell right now, Igor definitely in the discussion (with Markstrom (Markstrom has 5 shutouts already) and Jarry) IMO and obviously a lot of time, but Campbell has been every bit as good as Igor on a team traditionally let down by goaltending and one without stellar D.
Kreider has been great, everything we hoped he would be. Finally.
There was a time period when you could have argued he was Hank's successor. I don't know what's wrong with him. There's plenty out there that he'd like to be a #1 someplace. Rangers have certainly tried to trade him. You're not going to get that opportunity the way he's been playing. He just seems mentally check out.

He looked decent at one point but Shesty was always the heir apparent. His resume was always too good. He was being called the czar before playing a single NHL game by Rangers fans.
Nice to see the Rangers finally have a good goaltender.
Kakko is turning into a beast, wish he was able to get that ENG. 7 points in 7 games. He missed some time, but I'll say he hits 45-50 points this year.
Chytil looks great too but lacks the production.
RE: Nice to see the Rangers finally have a good goaltender.
A bunch of teams apparently are bugging Vancouver about JT Miller. The Rangers are said to be one of them. Never should have dealt him in the first place. Link - ( New Window )
RE: Kakko is quickly becoming my favorite current Ranger
With most everything that was discussed. Rangers had a great 1st period but the Flyers had the better of the play the last 2. Until they can dominate the weaker teams for 60 minutes and not rely on IGOR for most of the game I am still a bit skeptical.

trying to capitalize on a locker room mutiny, players lining up behind Bo Horvat or JT Miller.
One of those two (Horvat or Miller) candidates to be moved.
but I think the real problem is Brock Boeser. Maybe a Jake DeBrusk (plus) trade for Brock Boeser.
If I had to guess though I'd say Horvat gets moved before Miller.

Eh, pass. I don’t think Miller offers us anything that Strome and Chytil don’t
RE: RE: Kakko is quickly becoming my favorite current Ranger
He's just rock solid in every phase and the points are starting to come.
Hossa clone essentially. He will truly break out when he is on PP1.
This is the name that comes to mind for me often. Now of course that's high praise, Hossa just made the hall of fame. But just that really strong two way player with consistent 60-70ish point production, maybe a season or two here and there with more than that. I think that's a realistic ceiling to be honest. I love his game right now
Rangers have settled in nicely here after that tough road schedule to start the season. Didn't love how reliant they were on Igor to start but those points they banked were valuable and now they're finding their game. If a trade for a second line winger comes about they could really take off. Fun times.

Someone like Pavel Buchnevich from the Blues would be great.

Serioiusly? Leadership, toughness, money on the face offs, etc.

Agree with the sentiment but its hard to complain in a 4-1 win. Shouldn't have let the penalty throw us off. legit thought it was going to be 6-0 the way it was going. And in reality it should have been 4-0 before the penalty if the refs didn't fuck up.

Does Strome even take defensive zone face offs?
What Brett said. We don’t need Miller. I’d rather go after Reilly Smith.

Lol but is he gritty enough??
Blais was decent in his short time before injury but damn I sort of wish they'd just let Buch walk in UFA after this season and held onto him for one more season for whatever run they might be able to make this year. They could have fit him in for a year. Such an underwhelming return
Strome has never fully won me over either, and playing with Panarin certainly is nice, but our fanbase has been trying to run him out of town for years now and he sort of just keeps producing. 155 points in 201 games as a Ranger is not bad at all. 0.75 PPG is better than Derek Stepan's time here, for example.

I have heard he is a good player. Do you think Rangers could get him for someone like Blais and a second rounder?

I'm not sure of the criteria, I think it was 5 minutes because the Flyers' player got injured and was bleeding from above his eye.
Yup 5 minute major and a game misconduct. Something about Hunt turning into the player at the boards made it a major, I guess?
I thought a 5-minute major always meant a game misconduct too, no?

Just hope he plays Friday. Bringing my Son to his 1st game for his his birthday and I have been dreading seeing Georgiev.

Hard to argue with that. I just wish he had a more reliable backup.

now if they could only get some ping pong ball luck like the f-ing Penguins.

Agree. Or Horvat.

I like Strome. He's underrated.

No way, that's way too low.
