series is 1-1, last game Knicks had a chance to win but couldnt close it out..
I think Thibs found his closing lineup with Rose, quick, Burks, Randle and Mitch, Fournier and Rj will be sprinkled in but i think he trists those 5 right now to close. Defense is good, team moves the ball and can score..
We have seen the Bulls, we know how they play, they play through Derozan and Lavin with Vucevic spreading the floor..I exoect the Knicks to attack vucevic, he is not the greatest defender..
Their bench is thin but Donavon keeps Derozan or Lavine on the floor at all times..
Should be fun, both games were battles, expect the same
Rose is always up for a game in Chicago this should be another fun one.
Vucevic looks like he has regained his shooting touch so Bulls have a legitimate three-headed scoring machine in Vucevic, Lavine, and DeRozan.
Coby White is out tonight for the Bulls which means more of Caruso and Ayo. Bulls bench is actually pretty good with regard to defensive intensity.
Should be a good game
The Knicks offense really requires five guys who can hit three pointers. That would stop all the doubling in a second. Porzingas trade really killed them
Of all the re-signings that was the only bad one. Not horrific as it's basically a 2 year 9 mill per deal. However with Mitch here rather than bringing back a a zero on offense as a backup we should have looked for a floor spacer.

Don't disagree that the Knicks need a big man who can hit a jump shot. Can't say that I miss Porzingis though.
Vucevic is nothing much defensively, and the Williams injury is killing them at PF. They will trade for/get on a buyout an inside player or two by the time the playoffs start.

It wasn't that bad if you look at in the context of Robinson never being healthy. Knicks need a defensive presence in the middle. Noel provides that and is a solid backup to Mitch.
I agree with his offensive production though.
I'm fine with depth. Guys get injured. We have one of the deeper rosters in the league.
Having said that - the Bulls have one of the most potent small ball games in the NBA.
They have a number of long-limbed defenders who play D with 48 minutes of intensity.
You can try to attack them inside but you have to first get the ball in there and then they converge. Many a team has forced the ball inside only to suffer a plethora of turnovers that lead to fast break points against.
What has occasionally worked against the Bulls is an effective inside-out game where the opposing Big passes out to the three-point line and the long ball converts on a high percentage.
Do the Knicks hit a high percentage of their threes consistently?

Knicms habe had success in the paint in the first 2 games, Randle has also passed very well out of the double in both games..
Knicks hit 37% of their 3s as a team
I don't see an effective penetrator on the Knicks with the occasional exception of Rose.
Bulls guards Lonzo Ball and Caruso are terrific defenders that cause a lot of turnovers and more than that are just downright disruptive in gumming up the opposing offensive plays.
Can Rose provide 30 or minutes of turnover-free penetration?
Can Knicks hit their average 37% on three's?
I know Thibs is famous for his Defense but I think the Bulls D is what will decide this game. Bulls are relentless on D.
Bulls move the ball well and unselfishly on O. They maintain patience in moving the ball and hitting the open man. Lonzo Ball and Caruso are very effective offensive complements to Vucevic, DeRozan, and Lavine.
Really looking forward to this game as it bears some semblance to the old Knicks-Bulls rivalry.

That's actually not how the Knicks play offense at all. The offense runs through Randle in half court. He played well in the first game in terms of distributing the ball - only Caruso really tripped him up. We'll see if he does as well this time. IIRC there was a lack of rim protection for CHI but it wasn't just point guards who could exploit it.
Shifting Kemba out and Burks in will have an interesting impact. RJ did well on defense in the first matchup but whomever he wasn't guarding went off on Fournier. Now Burks provides a better defender and more switchability. It's a little different from that perspective.
Should be a really fun game. The team who defends best will probably win, IMO.
Ball is not going to get into the paint, he is a 3 and d, Fournier will most likely guard him..
Knicks can switch 1 through 4....
Knicks offensively spread you out and run thriugh randle, you can double him if you want but the Knicks habe 2 knock down shooters and rj who can get hot from 3..
Then off the bench you have the guys who are going to change the pace with Rose, Quick and Toppin..

You admitted RJ is a good defender! You're coming around! (Kidding.)

Jeez. Reading this from a Bulls fan it’s apparent the Knicks may as well not even show up. Oh well. On to the next one…
Do we see Toppin and Randle or will Gibson and Mitch split the minutes?

He doesnt realize the Knicks have thr best defensive rating in the league without Kemba and 9th best offensively...

Sims is out sick as well
Because he knows his team sucks and he has no shot and his body is starting to fail him a little bit..
Calling it now if the Knicks make a bkg trade and have roster spots open the Lakers will trade Melo to New york
Interesting!
I think he started a game last year but i could be wrong
Wow. That's 3 more than I thought, Haha. But who can forget the immortal Elfrid?
