Rob Sale (OL Coach) says Solder is the better of the two right now. Says Peart is less physical, not finishing, and not playing with a chip on his shoulder.
and a failure of coaching- to choose to enforce certain standards for some players and not others... not mean enough... ok when the guy plays hes better then the aged vet who sucks--- its pathetic-
we are not talking about a solid vet who gets the job done.
soldier on the field makes the giants worse... period end of discussion--
i dont care about peart, guy means zero to me, but he should be playing- not a washed overpaid terrible signing vet who stinks
Agree 1000 percent. Does Peart need to improve with his punch and opening up too quickly? Yes, but even with all of his faults and (I guess) his lack of intensity at practice, he is a far better in game player than Solder by a lot. And btw, shouldn;t priority one be protecting your potentially franchise QB and being able to assess whether he is a franchise QB> Solder negatively impacts both of those
(1) someone thought Peart was good enough to start at OT this year and thus NYG didn’t get any real OT help this off-season, or (2) someone thought that Solder was good enough to start at OT this season and thus NYG didn’t get any real OT help this off-season.
I still don’t understand why Peart isn’t starting. Ok, so his attitude isn’t perfect. You know what else isn’t perfect? Solders athleticism.
Solder is a veteran and Judge has been around him for years on a personal level. A kid the coaches don't trust never gets the nod over a vet even if the vet sucks.
This is on the Giants for drafting a player who scouts knew had this issue.
Kid has all the measurables to be a good tackle. Coaches need to bring that out. So Solder is a try-hard in practice, he still sucks game day. Think the other team would get more resistance from a tackling dummy. Judge and his buddy boy system is most likely in Sales ear preaching Solder should play and ultimately it is Judge’s decision, just as having Nate Ebner is.

Either way it’s a huge miscalculation.
