TH Night Foo -- Dallas v. Saints

Debaser : 12/2/2021 8:46 pm
Saints racked w injuries / Cowboys coaches racked w covid issues, but still a close game so far....
Saints need to stick it in here…

Is dak coming off injury?

Has thrown a couple stinkers. Didn’t expect this to be close.
Nice blitz

I know it’s said often here, but it really is like watching a different game. The Giants are just so fucking bad.

Dak knew the clock was running out and so did Zeke. Took the 3 and headed into the locker room up by 6. I don’t like jizzing on the Pokes but that’s the kind of smart football I just haven’t seen from the Giants in a long while.
It wasn’t hurts stupid

The rule is written that an illegal blindside block is if “a player initiates a block in which he is moving toward or parallel to his own end line and makes forcible contact to his opponent with his helmet, forearm, or shoulder.

It had to ne the helmet to helmet contact

I liked parsons a lot

But wasn’t the thing with him (besides character) that he was not an edge but a middle linebacker?

Again. I feel confident grahm would have used him like a chess piece and been an impact player.
How was that not a penalty on that QB slide
jhibb : 12/2/2021 11:25 pm : link
Dallas defender clearly hit Hill in the helmet after he started sliding. You could see his head snap back.

Fucking Dallas, every yr they rip off about 3 wins that they didnt even need to show up to get. Catching teams at the right time, bullshit calls and just luck. Fuck them so much.
Dallas is still pretty good.

Penn stater here. He was a true linebacker in college. Great in coverage and against the run. He was an effective blitzer. He was never an edge, but the talk at the time was that he had the ability to be one though.

As far as his character issues, he was a complete dick in hazing Humphries. He had poured water on him in the middle of the night. Humphries threw a bottle at him and then he went nuts and choked him. I think Humphries pulled a knife on him then. Outside of that I didn't hear of other issues.

Dallas beating New Orleans is in the Giants best interest. This is a good outcome.

At what? At some point Dak needs to be a duel threat. He’s not impressive as a pocket passer. He’s what - 22 and 8 now this year I think? Their run game is average if that. I’d sit Zeke for 3 weeks immediately. Sounds like their football people wanted to but then McCarthy got Covid and Kerry overrruled them.

They faced a full back playing qb with a splinter on his throwing hand on top of it tonight. There are 40 qbs in the league that hit smith I think it was in stride late in the 3rd quarter for a wide open td to make it a 3 point game. Hill was late by 3 seconds and underthrew him by 5 yards on top of it because he’s not a qb and had no feel on his throwing hand.

Dallas proved absolutely Nothing tonight. Unless Dak starts running again come playoff time they are an easy out.

Dak is not an impressive pocket passer, you say?
I was about to say... not impressive as a pocket passer?
Leg of Theismann : 12/3/2021 1:56 am : link
What?? He was absolutely impressive as a pocket passer the last few years, and then somehow this year (after his injury) he's looked even better in the pocket to me.

The days of Giants fans assuming Dak would forever be mediocre and hence praying to Jesus that the Cowboys would lock up Dak to a big long-term deal are over-- we were wrong. Dak is absolutely in the elite class of QBs. I don't know if he's the best in the business but he's certainly top 5 IMO and he mostly gets the job done with this head and arm from the pocket.
Dak is 16 -16 over his last 32 games
joe48 : 12/3/2021 5:16 am : link
Dallas fans are not thrilled with Dak and his big contract. They know that he needs everything to be near perfect. They are complaining that he is not the same QB when the running game is not producing. Claim OL is holding back the offense. Dak should play a few games behind our OL. He is a system QB who cannot put the team on his back. He called out the fans after the Raiders loss for jumping off their bandwagon. Cowboys have 3 more years with their $40M QB.
what the fuck is foo?
Victor in CT : 12/3/2021 7:33 am : link
another brilliant post.

Dak is highly overrated by the Cowboy hype machine.

He's completed 2/3 of his 1200 passes for 10,000 yards, 63 td's and 24 picks during that span and run for another 7 td's. He's on his way to another 30 td season this season. How would Cowboy fans enjoy watching Danny or Jalen instead? They should stfu.

Nobody ever said he was the worst in the league so the comparisons to danny Jones and hurts (his first year starting) are silly.

But the hype machine is absurd too - without his legs this year he’s pretty darn average. 30 tds in a season these days is impressive in what universe?
If anyone is “silly” it’s you
HomerJones45 : 12/3/2021 9:24 am : link
Prescott is tied for 6th in the League in TD passes with Rodgers at 23. In 2019 there were 4 qbs with 30 + Td passes. Prescott was one. Last season there were 10. Prescott had 9 in 4 1/2 games. Pretty safe bet he would have thrown 30+ that season too.

Dallas took a 4th round pick and turned him into certainly a top 10 and arguably a top 5 qb. Giants fans are showing more than a little green about it.

Jerrys Kid took the keys away from Jerrah when Jerrah was gonna draft Johnny Football and it shows. Their talent on both sides of the ball is far superior

Name me ONE Giant player Dallas would swap out ? Maybe Andrew Thomas?

Giants need a complete new draft and scouting team or the suck will continue for the rest of my lifetime

The man was high risk. So far it's turned out well for them, but it might not.
Now lets assume a best case scenario for them.best case being that he conquers his past and fulfills his potential. IN that case, would you rather have Parsons or Toney and a top ten pick next year.?
Even if you'd pick parsons, it would be a cloe call and nothing like an excuse you need to call Gettleman an ^%$#
Now suppose, and there's still a chance for this, that the kid self-destructs and becomes a diverting issue... Toney and a top ten or a wounded Parsons?
Thoughtless and nasty, based on hindsight and an agenda....

Since Parsons has been with Dallas all signs and comments from the team and fellow players have been more than complementary about how he goes about his business. This week there was a report that he is dedicating himself even more to improve. This is from a player that has DROY wrapped up and is in the conversation for DPOY.

Right now I can't see Parsons self destructing. It could happen, anything can happen. But it would be a long shot with what he's shown so far.

I'd send Toney and the Bears' pick to Dallas right now for Parsons. Parsons is a game changer week in and week out. He would be the best player on the Giants roster the day he arrived. So far Toney has managed two nice games (when he plays).
