I’m not a doctor, and I am in no way questioning Daniel Jones’ toughness. He’s proven that. But a strained neck? Really?
LT played with a torn shoulder, Bavaro had a broken jaw, Simms was always hurt and played, Eli played and won a Super Bowl with a partial shoulder tear and DJ has a STRAINED NECK!!! Jack Youngblood played a Super Bowl with a broken leg.
Get a massage, take some muscle relaxers, TAKE THE NEEDLE!!
We’ve got a shot at the playoffs, our qb who NEEDS to keep playing is out with a strained neck?!???
What has happened to the NFL?!??!!
I know I’m sounding like the old man I am, but a STRAINED NECK??!?
I’ll shut up now. Thanks for letting me vent.
Keep it classy though.
not that i think we can make it, but we'll never know if he's not playing.
Well played
This has nothing to do with Jones toughness or lack thereof.
He plays and he gets injured, stupid to start him.
He sits out, he’s a pussy and is inevitably compared to the players from an era of the game that doesn’t exist anymore.
Who are you to question an NFL players toughness?
As long a your entertained on a Sunday afternoon.
Asshole.
yep. his toughness is not debatable, so it's more than a strained neck.
This has nothing to do with Jones toughness or lack thereof.
Eli, so you don’t think it something skeletal? Where did you get this info? Your explanation actually makes a lot of sense. It would explain why they would allow movement associated with practice but not contact
It s actually better news, maybe he can play again this season

Since those muscles protect the spine, the medical staff would not clear him.

It’s something
I wish him well.
I had a strain which just needed muscle relaxers. Better in a few days.
I had a strain which needed 3 weeks of physical therapy.
I had a spine/shoulder issue which needed intense chiropractic work because relaxers and massage didn't work. This took about 6 months to recover. I'm lucky, I got all my strength/motion back.
So in summary, since we don't know what it is, we don't know what is needed.
And a neck injury in particular is one you DO NOT want to mess around with possibly exacerbating /injuring further. Could literally end a person's career.
I say this as someone who has had neck issues all of my adult life going back to slipping a disc in my neck about 8 years ago and even prior to that. I honestly would say I have a fairly high tolerance for pain in most locations of my body, but anything regarding neck and back can be particularly debilitating for anyone, even the toughest sonofabitches.
I agree with adam-- the guy came back from a bad concussion just a week later. That takes guts. And Jones may indeed be worth of the "injury-prone" moniker at this point but I sure as hell wouldn't question his toughness over this one.

+1
Is it that serious that some of you seem to think he’s done with the Giants?
Personally, if he’s healthy, I don’t think we need to draft a QB, especially since this year’s crop leaves a lot to be desired.
Thanks again.
You sir are a clown...

What was the point of this unknowledgable thread? You don't know anything about the subject, yet you start a thread bashing Jones about it.
Geez, maybe someday I can grow up to be as smart as you all.
He provoked a discussion that was interesting and I enjoyed and profited from some of the follow up posts. So no need to apologize, you're in a place that like to dengrate and attack.

He's well within his rights to vent and we're well within our rights to tell him his vent is misguided and reflects a lack of knowledge.
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

Nihilists, right?
You’re a dink...
This certainly ain’t Pete’s Corner anymore.
I don't think this is what is happening, but I wouldn't completely discount it.

More conspiracy theories...really?

Mara pulled the same exact thing in 2019. Jones had a small ankle problem, but they benched him to give Eli some more home games before he retired. The fact that the carpenter had direct contact with the Maras before he broke the news tells me this thing is almost planned out behind the scenes. Judge might already be ready to draft The Ole Miss QB.
.
You all kill me...
I doubt it is a concocted story because why would Jones play along. They moved very fast to sign a QB which tells me they knew the severity. I think if anything Judge is probably hoping Glennon plays well enough to say Jones was part of the problem. If Judge is going to stay here I am willing to bet he wants his own QB.

Just guessing.

No. You won't grow up like that. That's not how smartness works.
Happy holidays fellas.

just a sign o’ the times
I deleted most of them at around 1am roughly an hour after posting them.
You should have done the same.
But props for accepting your well deserved abuse.

Except Jones has practiced all week. He also said he thinks he should play.
Again, odds are the trainers are just being cautious. But something doesn't add up. Even in non-contact drills, Jones has to drop back, scan the field, run around, and throw the ball further than you or I could ever hope to dream.
If his neck really was bad, bad, bad, why would he be practicing?
