I’m not a doctor, and I am in no way questioning Daniel Jones’ toughness. He’s proven that. But a strained neck? Really?
LT played with a torn shoulder, Bavaro had a broken jaw, Simms was always hurt and played, Eli played and won a Super Bowl with a partial shoulder tear and DJ has a STRAINED NECK!!! Jack Youngblood played a Super Bowl with a broken leg.
Get a massage, take some muscle relaxers, TAKE THE NEEDLE!!
We’ve got a shot at the playoffs, our qb who NEEDS to keep playing is out with a strained neck?!???
What has happened to the NFL?!??!!
I know I’m sounding like the old man I am, but a STRAINED NECK??!?
I’ll shut up now. Thanks for letting me vent.
I'm really hoping that's not what it is for Daniel's sake, but just saying that if you read between the lines, that kind of diagnosis wouldn't be a surprise to me.
Next year will almost certainly be make or break for Judge. The team really needs to take a significant step forward, or he's going to be out of here. Knowing that, what QB is going to shake loose in FA or the draft that Judge is going to want to roll the dice with, risking his job security?
the medical staff knows and has determined it’s probably a longer term than 2 -3 week injury.mWe’ll never know unless there is a big leak. Giants go forward with # 2 and 3 qb for at least next several weeks.
Good Luck to Glennon. Of the two, I think Glennon is the better pocket passer. There career QB stats are near identical
We will see tomorrow
I don't think this is what is happening, but I wouldn't completely discount it.
No Eric... if you want to go there, then why not say it is an excuse to give him another year because we did not have a chance to evaluate him without a shitty OC? I mean... if you want a conspiracy theory.
I'm sure the Giants coaches would like for him to finish the last 6 games as the starter at QB. Regardless of his play this year IMHO DJ gives the Giants the best chance to win. No disrespect to Mike Glennon.
It could very well be likely that the Giants are trying to avoid "Derek Carr syndrome".
Just a thought based a thin air...
It's very possible that DJ injured his neck in the Cowboys and it was undiagnosed and last game it made it worse.
sure... and my mother can win a NASCAR race. She is 83 by the way
Now that I think about it, any one of these three “what ifs” is equally unlikely. So I guess the odds of all 3 events happening is about 1 in 100,000.
You can ask my man right here with the broken neck
He's a witness to the job never bein' done
He would've been in full effect

if Jones isn't really hurt all that badly but the Giants want to move on?

So wait, you think them wanting to hide Jones for the rest of the year so they can bring him back next year is as plausible as Eric’s comment? Jeezus man.
Im not sure why you guys are giving Eric such a hard time. His scenario would actually fit right into the operation that we’ve witnessed for the past decade. Would you really be all that surprised if this were true?
I’m not saying it’s true or that I believe it, but I could absolutely see a scenario where the coaching staff is extremely frustrated with Jones’ production, or lack thereof and would like to see if another QB can spark the offense before it’s too late. I guarantee you that the staff and front office see the Giants basically a game out of a wild card and still view this season as on going. And there is no way Mara is going to allow them to potentially embarrass Jones by benching him. He’s been a good soldier. So the simple solution all parties is to over play an injury. It gives them a free shot to evaluate the offense with someone else running it and still allows them to go back to Jones easily enough if Glennon/Fromm stink up the joint. Which is likely.
Again, I’m not saying this is what’s happening but I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t crossed my mind.
This seems like it was not his call. I won't question it if an NFL doctor won't clear him. It's not as simple as a strained muscle. We can only hope it will not linger or prove a long term concern.
