Here's why - they are a historic program with a great fan base that draws ratings. If you don't think that matters than you are naive...
Normally yes. No signature win. I also think the committee said something about injured players and coaches leaving may have a impact on final selection. That gives the committee a out from given into the pressure.

I don’t think it’s the ratings. I think they’re the next team up. Part of me actually felt the opposite— ND could be discriminated against by the committee because of their past performances in the CFP, if not consciously at least subconsciously. But yeah they’re next up
especially since they won by an inch. Their strength of schedule was terrible this year too. ND is in in this scenario based on their play and schedule, not their fan base IMO.
Thing for Iowa is UM getting up. Hutch might be the #1 pick, and Ojabo is top 20. Good luck
This is why I envisioned at least a 20+ point mich win and as much as a 40+ point win.
Either Iowa will contain Michigan for 3 quarters and keep it working 10 points, but since they’re offense does nothing their defense will tire out and Michigan will roadgrade them in the 4th.
Or…. Michigan will get a decent lead early, Iowa will be forced to play an offense than don’t do well (meanwhile they don’t do anything well on offense so it’s doubly worse), next thing you know Michigan is getting turnovers and expanding their lead exponentially with nothing Iowa can do.
Actually is making plays with his arm. Twice in the red zone but only 3 points for Iowa.
Keep foot on gas Michigan.
He can throw short - intermediate passes over the middle. That’s his bread and butter. But if he has to throw the ball more than 20 yards downfield, or if he has make those deep out throws on the sideline that require serious zip, he just becomes wildly ugly. Hence why Iowa can’t afford to get down so big. They need to work methodically down the field and their run game needs to get working for Petrus to be good.
Michigan had a chance to put this thing away and just gave away to e chance right there. We’ll see if Iowa can settle down and make some big plays (maybe score an actual TD) but it’s an uphill battle.

Now let’s get 6!

I don’t think that will have any bearing - if Michigan loses they fall out of the top 4 and ND is next team up, simple as that.
Baylor has a good argument based on signature wins and winning a conference title.
So it's not as clear cut, IMV, as the next team up in the rankings order.
That's why I am introducing intangibles like a team's ability to move the needle...

I’m not a fan of the blue pants away uniform
Still think he sucks??
Fightin' Blue Hens!

Still early tho…. Lol
Alright will stop shitting on Petrus.
… for now
Keep foot on gas Michigan.
And probably stuboness.
It’s easier not playing in a conference right? They haven’t beat 1 top 25 team
all year. So if you can sneak in , why not?
It was an awful throw.

I legit don’t know the reason. Just because they want to be special? Join the big 10 and shut everyone up.

Please explain how most years ND has a better SOS than Michigan or Ohio State.

their 23rd of the season. The Michigan TE should have caught it

He must have made 3 reads on that play and still managed to throw a terrible pass.
But they're never joining the big 10, . Never going to even consider it.
They'll eventually join the ACC, but that wont happen as long as JS is the AD and the big time donors who are totally opposed to it are still alive.
