How many games has Toney finished this year?

cpgiants : 12/5/2021 1:18 am
Missed 2.
Injured at least 4. NO, ATL, TB, KC
Ejected 1. DAL

I also think there were games when he was just not on the field at the end due to coach's decisions.

I've never seen anything like it really.

I think he's only finished like 3 games this season so far and we're coming up on game number 12 which he is doubtful for....

To me his whole season so far is one play against the Saints and 1 dominant game against the Cowboys and he ended both of those games out anyway.

What is a realistic future for this guy?

I don’t follow college that much so I never heard of KD. He is just another bad first round pick. This is why our team is bad. Poor drafting and lack of building solid line play. It will stay this way on offense especially until we fix the OL. I don’t care who you bring as QB.

You can't be unhappy with what you've seen from Toney, he has looked phenomenal when on the feel and getting targets. He has been held back by the teams lousy passing game. I think if you put him on an offense with a good passing game, he could be a top 25 WR in this league.

Will these injuries plague his career? Will the lack of a passing game ruin his career? Maybe or maybe not.

I think that's the point being made, he is NEVER on the field
Maybe someone should do an analysis ...

on his college career and how often he missed games there. Has it been a life long issue? OR.. did this just start once he got to the Giants facility and training staff
Toney's injury
AlwaysASpiral : 12/5/2021 6:33 am : link
Toney has been playing hurt. It is a bit disingenuous when it is the same injury and to start breaking it down by the game.

If we had WR's who were doing well, Toney would have been healing and not playing.

Toney lookED like a Star in the making until he hurt his foot/ankle.

I don’t understand what you guys are talking about. Never? The kid is our leading receiver in yardage right now, despite the injuries. There’s potential, he’s something you should be excited about.

Bothers and shows how bankrupt the BBI Fools corner is.
Parson's was high risk. doesn't matter how it turns out, what matters it the criteria at the time of the draft.
A qualifier: all NFL players are high risk, Parsons with his off=field issues was more hi risk than most.
Instead we got Toney and a top ten (at least) pick next year. If Parons fulfills his potential, it's likely a good draft decision. If Parson's eventually self-destructs it's a monumentally goodf choice.
But by all means fill the fool's corner with the continuing mononotous, whimpering, agenda driven comments. And they'll walk away convinced that an hour on the coach per week makes them smarter than the full timers with support teams and unlimited data bases.

Potential is nice. The Giants "potentially" had a very good offense, but nobody can stay healthy.

Toney being the leading receiver doesnt say much with this cast of Giants.

I like Toney as a player, just needs to be in games

They should trade him in the offseason. For a lot of reasons. Get ahead of this now.

I agree with the content of your post but please work at the presentation, incl paragraph breaks. It will encourage people to hear out your thoughts.

I know JonC & others have been expressing regrets over not picking Parsons but the Giants had a line in to PSU and took him off their draft board. There has to be more to the story than that single instance of bullying in the library. Let’s see if Parsons off the field conduct eventually justifies the Giants’ views.
Toney’s talent is undeniable

Electric actually is an apt description as overused as it is. Him and a first is a win. Then he missed camp and has never caught up. Part of a season devastated by injury even given the obvious flaws of the team. Next year.

Just because the Giants can explain why they passed on Parsons doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do. Parsons is on his way to ROTY and maybe DPOTY. Toney and our draft pick next year are on the way to another meaningless losing season and an eleventh year of “rebuilding”. Yay!

If Parsons were on the Giants this season then the Giants very well may have been in the hunt for a division title and a spot in the play offs. With everyone healthy and a dominant defense there’s a real chance at a Lombardi. A good chance? Who knows. But it would have been a chance. Is that a far fetched statement? I don’t think so.

But sure, “the Giants had a line into PSU”. And “Parsons had off field issues”. (By the way, is beating the shit out of a team mate really an issue)? Yeah, and so we got Toney, who might turn out to be a nice player but came with some of his own worrying off field issues and plays a position that you can regularly find in later rounds.

But somehow me and the other fans who question Gellteman and Jints Central are stupid? As of right now, passing on Parsons was a huge mistake. So was passing on Slater. Who knows about the future? Well, I suppose that’s a fair question. But one thing we know about the future of this season, the Giants aren’t in the hunt for anything except maybe a new GM to carry on the 11 year rebuild. My hope is that the Giants get a GM who can get the answers right to the most important questions and not another one who just explains his wrong answers.

That s really good rebuttal and much unlike the negative swill we get here. But wrong, nevertheless. because it's based on dollops of hindsight. Given the circumstances at the time, the information available a 17 th ( or whatever it was) and Chicago' s no 1 next year was the absolutely. Unewuivocably correct call.

I agree that the Giants decisionmaking has been awful but that doesn’t mean every one they make is bad. Let’s reserve judgement on that Parsons decision, because there was a behind-the-scenes reek with him. If he’s out in the field a couple of seasons from now, in the middle of a successful career, we can all agree that passing on him was a mistake — but it’s too soon to tell.

Agree that the Slater misevaluation is a major strike against DG.

(And I didn’t like the Toney pick then or now, but that’s a separate matter from Parsons.)
