You can't tell me he'd be worst than Glennon was today. It is utterly mind boggling that the Giants were so confident not just in Jones ability, but Jones ability to stay healthy, that they were stupid enough to go into the season with Glennon as the backup.
In 2020, he was 1-7 when Jax was 1-15.
So Jax was never good while he was there.

20/25, 242, 9.7 YPA, 2 TDs/0 INTs, 78+ QBR.
Pretty damn solid.
Jones best QBR this year was 67.
He played the WORST defense in the NFL today… 31st in total defense and dead last in scoring defense. Footballoutsiders.com has the Jets as 20% worse than the next closest defense in the sport this season.
And Jones has played against the Falcons (31st defense in PPG), Raiders (29th in PPG), and WFT (25th in PPG).
His QBRs in those games: 49.4, 43, and 59.6.
Any other insights you'd like to add?
Gardner Minshew played the worst defense in the sport today and nimrods are throwing him bouquets. I didn’t bring up Daniel Jones. I just said WGAF about what Minshew did today. Even you can understand that. Maybe not.
today was very winnable with a better backup qb. But downgrading was needed to not cause any controversy
Jesus fucking christ.
Jesus fucking christ.
yeah so stupid, why talk about who is backing up the most important player on a football team, for a specific guy who hasn't even shown he's good yet, who also gets hurt for like 3-4 games every year.
If you can get a young QB who can win games and may at least show enough that you can trade him for an asset, particularly given the Jones situation, you do it.
jesus fucking christ
Lots of chuckleheads arguing against it...

Arguing about who would’ve been the better back up? As if Minshew would’ve given some kind of hope for an already lost season?
Jesus fucking christ.

Blah blah blah
You still don’t get the point and, that’s not surprising.
As for Minshew, many teams bypassed on the chance to bring him in, including those for which there would never be a QB controversy. Maybe most of the sport just doesn’t think he’s particularly good. Maybe they’re wrong. Who knows??
I believe at one point in college or something he didn’t want to play so he smashed his hand with a hammer. I heard that story somewhere. And if true, I can see why teams would look passed talent and evaluate his personality over talent.
In 2020, he was 1-7 when Jax was 1-15.

My mistake on the years. Thanks for the correction. But my point is the same. As the talent around him left, so did the wins. I actually like Minshew and do think he is worth a 6th rounder. BUT, he would still look like dogshit on this offense

Why comment? Its a good example of how poorly the Giants construct the roster. This is a New York Giants fan forum right? Did anyone here say Minshew would give hope for a lost season?
