Gettleman/Judge should have been on thin ice to start and had someone grooming or ready to step in if things turned out poorly. If Abrams/Graham are the guys have them ready to jump in.
It's a tough business and feeling shouldn't be important.
There is nothing wrong with having young aggressive people ready to takeover.

Plus, who from the outside would want to come here if DG gets humiliated? The only choices left after that would be people in house, which would simply prolong the suck.

The proper move would be to make Abrams the actual GM on a temporary basis behind the scene (while doing a GM search), letting DG "retire" gracefully. Yes, we all want blood, but that's not always the best way to get things done.

We know 2022 will be a disaster, so let Judge ride it out while the new GM prepares for a new coaching staff for 2023 (similar to what they did with Fassel in 2003).

You're not going to get any improvement in 2022 with a new coaching staff because of the cap and dead money restrictions, plus the fact that the rookies will need seasoning. If done right, the team could be competitive by 2025.

Then again, this presumes John Mara actually is capable of making the proper moves. That has yet to be seen.

Nothing will be accomplished by firing either guy today. There is no coach or GM who is sitting at home ready to take a job elsewhere if we do not hire him before the end of this season.

We want Mara to make the right decision... not any decision to appease the mob.

Could the team anniunce that Getts will not be retained and let him finish out the season? That would hopefully check two boxes. First letting fans know Getts is out after this season but without firing him. And secondly allowing them to start the search process without having to do so under the cover of darkness.

Sure, but I don’t see why Gettleman needs to be treated with all this respect. He’s been awful and has had more than enough time to fix it.

should go (the scouts they don't plan to keep at least), it drives me crazy that teams keep those roles in place until after the draft.

No one will convince me that this is a good practice for any reason.

Coach, not sure it will matter unless by making Graham the HC it could somehow get the Giants compensation from his new team (assuming someone else wants him as HC)

performance yesterday I wouldn't hire him either. That end of 2nd qtr sequence was embarrassing. Sitting back and letting Tua dink and dunk down the field before half time was a killer(well one of them).
