I watched Working Girl last night.
That film is verrrry 80s.
Crazy hair. Ridiculous make up. Fluffy dresses. Ludicrous Wall Street plotline.
I watched Cocktail a while back. That was pretty 80s too.
I asked my wife. She said Desperately Seeking Susan.
Great pick. I love that film.
And it's totally 80s to the max. ;)
Agreed. I hate those fucking movies. So awful, especially St. Elmo's Fire.
St Elmo's Fire would be second
This would be my pick. Early 80s perfectly encapsulated.
This.
This one does it for me. Especially the Pat Benatar look-alikes.
Came here for this.
It's an 80s thing.
'No shirts. No shoes. No dice.'
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo :-)
Road House
Valley Girl gets another vote. Nicolas Cage's first film. This film is blatently every 80's stereotype you can think off.
Scarface - I'd also put forth Scarface. Coke, guns, Miami Vice outfits.
Miami Vice- same as Scarface

Fast Times was based on writer Cameron Crowe’s experience as an undercover high school student in the late 70s, so that makes sense.
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo :-)

Rocky IV
Wall Street
Goonies
Die Hard
First Blood/Rmabo: First Blood Part II
Ferris Beuller
Gremlins
Dirty Dancing
Stand By ME
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Porky's
Police Academy
Footloose
Big
Do the Right Thing
I know Working Girl seems to represent the 80s in terms of the hair, the office culture, etc. but it is not one that immediately came to mind.
I would love to pick a John Cusack movie, because I think of him as an iconic 80s actor, but I'm not sure any of the films are quite there.
