Shout out to Julian Love!

Rudy5757 : 12/6/2021 9:00 am
I took my boys to the game, for my 8 year old it was his first. Clearly a terrible game but we enjoyed just being there. There was a big showing of Giants fans, I would say close to 40%. A very small stadium.

At the end of the game, Julian Love pointed at my son and threw him his gloves. It made our day that much more special. We were in the front row next to the guy with the painted face and bubble helmet so I believe we were on TV a few times. But Julian Love made a memory that we will never forget.

A few thoughts on the game. Glennon is just awful, seeing him in person he just looks as bad as it gets. He has the jitters, just not relaxed in the pocket. He had more time to throw than Jones had any game and just made so many bad throws. Jake Fromm throws a nice ball, Id like to get a look at him next game if DJ is out. There is no question in my mind that we win that game if DJ plays. For those that think Glennon is a capable backup go back and watch the game.

DJ was out on the field warming up and throwing passes. Not sure how the neck could be that bad. He didnt look in pain and was throwing a lot of passes.

McKinney is huge, he is bigger than a lot of linebackers. So excited about this guy.

Elderon Smith is skinny, he definitely needs to add weight to be effective. Build muscle mass.

Ojulari is a big guy for a rookie. I think we will see a very good player with a year in the weight room to build on an already impressive frame.

Nate Solder is a stick figure. He not only plays bad but he is no longer built to play OT. There are TEs bigger than him, its no wonder he cant handle the Bull Rush, he has no weight behind him.

LW, Golliday and Engram spent some time with the fans after the game, a few other players as well. With Covid and everything going on its nice that they still do that.

Compared to the Miami Punter Riley Dixon is a Middle school kicker. The Miami kicker got height and distance while Dixons kicks were short and not a lot of hang time.

It was very hot on the Giants sideline being in the sun, Miami is in the shade the whole game. It is a huge home field advantage for the 1:00 games. I would say there was at least a 10 degree difference. If you go to a Miami game sit on the home field side to get the shade.

Thank you again Julian Love, you made our day special and turned an 8 year old into a Giants fan for life. Now I have to get him a Julian Love Jersey.

I think you are probably talking about the other McKinney and not Xavier.
Pretty cool.

story thanks for sharing.

I bet your son will remember this experience way more than the game or how crappy the Giants were.
I think,

and I say this with kindness, you may need to invest in some glasses?

McKinney is not huge compared to linebackers, and while Sodler is thinner than most tackles, he's not a stick figure that's smaller than many tight ends.

Cool that Love and some others made connections with fans

Has always struck me as a good kid and he's someone I'd like to see stick around on a 2nd contract.
There were multiple kicks
Dnew15 : 12/6/2021 9:44 am : link
made by Dixon that did not make it to where the return man was standing to receive the kick.

He must have a picture of Gettleman with a goat or something.
That’s awesome!

He also played well.

Brandon Jacobs gave me his gloves during a preseason Pats game. Still don’t know what to do with them. Was always going to frame them with a jersey or something but haven’t done anything with them. Just sitting on a shelf on top of my small football card collection.

I didnt realize there are 2 on the team but he was hanging with the DBs a lot and he towered over them so I could see his name not his jersey number...LOL

Love is a very smart player and a guy that should stay with the team, he is a valuable guy kind of 12th starter.

As for Solder, he was out of pads and I stood next to him. He is very thin for a Tackle. Every other OL is much bigger than him, its not even close. Many people were surprised he was an OL. It says he is 320 but I think he is much closer to 300 than 320. Just my opinion from standing next to him.

I am a fan of Judge and DJ so Im probably in the minority right now. Judge is a work in progress and definitely needs to do a better job with game management but that will come. the team plays very conservatively. I think DJ can get this team to a Superbowl. We are very limited with the talent on the OL.

I was a fan of DG too but its time for him to go. The OL is not improved after 4 years and its the biggest reason this team is where it is. There was no excuse not drafting another OL this year. There are 5 OL that play every down, you need to have a solid group and should invest in that position every year. It pains me to see other teams have starters on the OL that were drafted later in the draft the past 2 drafts and playing well. A strong OL covers up a lot of flaws everywhere else. 5 average guys can make a good OL. Weak links kill, we have 4 weak links right now.
