Andrew Thomas

Still Rocking and Rolling. Solid 71.5 PFF grade still recovering from his ankle issue while playing with the worst four linemen in football. The only thing I will ever give Gentleman credit for. Maybe Mckinney as well. Still not sold on Ojulari just yet.
He is ok

but 71.5 is not a bad score, but it isn't a great one either. We drafted him fourth overall. That is a middle of the pack tackle. Look at Jordan Mailata for the Eagles drafted in the 7th Round. I mean, yeah, Thomas is not a bust, but I want an All-Pro at four, especially when we selected the first lineman off the board.
I imagine his score would be better

if he was
A) Healthy
B) Playing with even a decent lineman next to him and not the shit we trot out there

Probably credited him with the sack where Glennon held onto the ball for 500 years.

Thomas is great. Now build around him.
I'm sure Phillips sack
section125 : 12/6/2021 10:49 am : link
over him in the 3rd quarter when Glennon froze in the pocket hurt his score a bit.
What is hurting him
BigBlueJ : 12/6/2021 10:53 am : link
is his run blocking. His Pass blocking has been elite. He is physically limited as he admitted returning from the ankle. As far as All PRO, I think that is a ridiculous expectation to have in year two. AT can be here for the next 10 - 12 years.

LOL we have had awful Left Tackles for the past decade, and now we have a young promising solid tackle who is a little hobbled at this time and you are sad because he is not Jonathan Ogden yet?
Complaining about Jordan Malaita
gersh : 12/6/2021 10:58 am : link
Doesn’t make sense
Malaita was a project. He was developed and is terrific - yes. But he is being paid accordingly - 4 year, $64,000,000 contract

Or I am just waiting to see whether the guy we took first off the board is average, good, or great and not celebrating because PFF gave him a grade of 71 yesterday which is ok, but not anything to stop the presses about.
The Eagles oline coach

is also top five in the business. Stoudtland is highly regarded around the league as a teacher.

I agree. The Eagles and the Giants are almost polar opposites. The Giants have no offensive line and eveything else falls apart. The Eagles have an offensive line with a great OL coach and they are usually successful despite not having a great roster outside of it. I mean last year the Eagles were playing fourth stringers on the OL and they had the results you would expect. But, they made the playoffs 3 years in a row before that and this year once they got Lane Johnson (2-5 start I think and are now 6-7) back have been pretty good albeit against bad teams. It just shows you what an effective Oline can do for a football team.
I'm convinced our OL problems is coaching
shadow_spinner0 : 12/6/2021 10:47 pm : link
I seen other teams draft guys in the 5th round they become serviceable starters. Hell like others mentioned, Eagles drafted a guy in the 7th round and he's a pro bowl already. Thomas has been good, he's not a bust but not the all pro I expected, especially when guys like Wirths has looked far better. There can't be a reason why our OL is really bad, no matter who we sign, no matter who we draft, it's always bad. It ahs to be coaching. Do you guys think Slater who be as effective had we drafted him? Talent is an issue but I believe our OL coaching has not been good.
Anyone

know why they never run behind him? To me, it's just as bad as not throwing deep to Golladay or using Toney in space.

Feature your best players.
