Shepard and Toney are out. Golladay is questionable. RB #1 clearly isn't 100% and RB #2 is average. He will be protected by an OL with an over the hill RT, a backup RG, and a backup OC. Oh, he's had about 2 weeks to learn the playbook from an interim OC. This is just off the top of my head.
Seriously, how many of the wise and faithful BBI actually try and judge him as a QB on gameday?
This, I am just hoping that he shows enough to earn the backup job next season. The Giants would then save a sizeable amount of cap space having Fromm on a rookie contract for two more years.
But, with Fromm, everyone is aware he was claimed off the scrap heap out of desperation. But, he also poses an intriguing option right now as a former big prospect who fell. At this point he's playing because Jones and Glennon are likely out and he's likely better than Lewerke. He really can't be worse than Glennon and we have no choice. But, if he's better, maybe he's an option to back up next year.
Actually, for the Jones haters, perhaps the best scenario would be if Fromm plays well enough this weekend and in subsequent starts, so that the Giants decline Jones 5th option, bring in a veteran and then have a three way competition in camp next year.
Assuming Giants won’t fall in love with a QB from this iffy draft class.
NFL teams make mistakes all the time. Buffalo thought enough of him to keep him on the PS. Heineke was out of football when WFT signed him, and he’s done pretty well. Then there’s Kurt Warner (albeit 20+ years ago).
I don’t think anyone is expecting a Justin Herbert to show up, but maybe Fromm shows enough to be a good backup.
And if he puts up at least 17 points in his starts, then he very well could be named our starting QB as well...
Why were Victor Cruz, Tom Brady, and Johnny Unitas available off the street practically?
Its often about politics, money, and pecking order. not always talent
If I were Judge I would want to see what Fromm cando
The season is all but lost
That's just a fact. No need for a thread. Does it matter if any of our skill players are out? What have they really produced this year?
Thank heavens they seem to excel at designing limited offenses. Probably the only thing they excel at.
Don't get your hopes up guys.
I also didn't think Jalen Hurts would be a good NFL QB, but he's playing.
