You never know. It's always possible a new quarterback, with a quick release, could do OK. Don't rule it out.

Why was he available off the street? The other teams have already judged him for us.

He's a lottery ticket. Either he shows he's good these last five weeks (unlikely) or the Giants enter 2022 without a viable quarterback.

This, I am just hoping that he shows enough to earn the backup job next season. The Giants would then save a sizeable amount of cap space having Fromm on a rookie contract for two more years.

do you REALLY think theyre going to ask/let him throw the ball all over the field? RB flats, screens, bubble screens, routes back toward the los. more training wheel bullshit that we do with our 6 overall franchise qb. id love it, but im not getting my hopes up.

Glennon just reminded everyone why there was an overwhelming desire for him NOT to be the backup. Why not stick with McCoy, for example, who at least won a game last year? Even that is not really any better.

But, with Fromm, everyone is aware he was claimed off the scrap heap out of desperation. But, he also poses an intriguing option right now as a former big prospect who fell. At this point he's playing because Jones and Glennon are likely out and he's likely better than Lewerke. He really can't be worse than Glennon and we have no choice. But, if he's better, maybe he's an option to back up next year.

Actually, for the Jones haters, perhaps the best scenario would be if Fromm plays well enough this weekend and in subsequent starts, so that the Giants decline Jones 5th option, bring in a veteran and then have a three way competition in camp next year.

Assuming Giants won’t fall in love with a QB from this iffy draft class.

NFL teams make mistakes all the time. Buffalo thought enough of him to keep him on the PS. Heineke was out of football when WFT signed him, and he’s done pretty well. Then there’s Kurt Warner (albeit 20+ years ago).

I don’t think anyone is expecting a Justin Herbert to show up, but maybe Fromm shows enough to be a good backup.

at least 9 points in his starts, then he should be the #2 QB for the remainder of this year and probably next.

And if he puts up at least 17 points in his starts, then he very well could be named our starting QB as well...

I expect nothing, but @ least it is something to look forward to amidst this calamity of a season.

I'd play Fromm if the alternative is Lewerke or Glennon.

Would like to see what Fromm can do, but this pathetic offense is going to show us anything except how he can throw a three yard pass. Hand the ball off for -2 on first down, then either a screen or another run for 3 yards on 2nd down. Delay of game penalty on 3rd down while the coaches decide between their 4 plays which one to run. Then 3rd down and long, either a draw or Hernandez doesn’t pick up a stunt, or Solder gets spun like a turnstyle resulting in either a dropped pass by Slayton or ball thrown out of bounds. Repeat next series.

Thank heavens they seem to excel at designing limited offenses. Probably the only thing they excel at.

Plays like Glennon did last Sunday, he will be considered a success.

Avoid judging. He's going to be wildly unprepared for this. Just hope he doesn't get hurt too.

Always thought of him as a terrific college QB, but just not a pro. Strong intangibles, he kept Justin Fields on the bench.

I also didn't think Jalen Hurts would be a good NFL QB, but he's playing.
