not exactly ideal for a team with tons of offensive injuries, a bad OL and an offensive scheme that doesn't scheme receivers open. Lets see how he does tho.
but I do know that Georgia has one of the top football programs. Looking at these highlights, this kid makes some fantastic throws. Why hasn't he been given a shot in the NFL?
Summary: Junior entry from Warner Robbins, Georgia. Three-year starter who took over the job in 2017 as a result of an injury to Jacob Eason. Fromm starred, winning the SEC Freshman of the Year Award and never gave up the job afterward. Justin Fields, the Ohio State quarterback who is likely going to be a top 10 pick in 2021, transferred from Georgia because he couldn’t beat Fromm out. Fromm won a ton of games and was a two-year team captain. While his tools won’t impress, he knows how to gain a coach’s trust. He plays within himself, he makes smart decisions, and he knows when to alter his aggression. The issue is a lack of true upside and he just doesn’t seem to have the physical potential to take over a game when necessary. He is likely heading toward backup duty but also likely to get a shot at some point.
you really can’t expect anything from him ... BUT in the eyes of the eternal optimist ...
except for being an inch shorter, his scouting report reads exactly like that of Mac Jones... the film shows accuracy at 50+ yards in the air, he won 36 of the 43 games he played at Georgia with 78 TDs and only 18 interceptions on nearly 1000 attempts. He’s played at the highest level and cannot do any worse that what we’ve seen in blue this year. The Jests had their 1 game wonder and maybe the Jints can too. Link - ( New Window )

He makes good throws but when people watch game film, they didn't see elite arm talent. He was also helped by the fact he had a great OL (Giants own Andrew Thomas and Isiah Wilson) and a terrific run game, especially that 2017 team with Chubb, Michel and Swift. From didn't lead them to a title game, he didn't prevent them either. I say give him a shot but don't hold your breath for him. Hopefully he can show enough to just take us through the season with a healthy QB.
He’s always been a winner (played in the LL World Series), excelled against the highest level of college football competition, and was the reason Justin Fields went to Ohio St. He’s probably better than anyone coming out this year ... so at least give him a chance.
“We did a lot of work on him,” one NFL personnel executive told FanSided of Fromm, on the condition of anonymity to speak freely about a player on another team. “And, honestly, at best, he’s just a guy.
“He doesn’t have a lot of arm strength, he isn’t mobile, he’s just not an NFL quarterback.”
...get to see how he plays with defenders in his face.
Also, he can hit those small windows at the NCAA level...they close quicker in the NFL.
If he can play a Heinicke role (very similar college bios), the Giants can address other needs in the draft and FA allowing them to push QB decisions to 2023.

In those highlights, I saw three blitz beaters and one legit pressure on him. Everything else he had time to get a cup of coffee and a pedicure in the pocket. Also, as you point out, tight windows in the endzone in college are out of bounds in the pros. At least 5 of those completions were one foot in with no chance for the second. That does not translate to the NFL, those are incomplete passes. I think this is another example of when everything is perfect, he can be good. Behind our line, this statue will be buried.

So, if we build a better line and get him some weapons....
...you're saying there's a chance~
Called QB1 that follows 3 of the top HS QB prospects in the country. He's one of them, seemed like a good kid. Southern jock type but easy to root for. Glad he's getting the nod over Glennon
The guy got knocked out and finished the game. He didn't look that bad against Cowboys at all. After Gollday got hurt he no one but WR activated from the practice squad.
This guy is not an NFL QB due to lack of arm talent. It might be like a pick 6 on the first throw if not just a poor man's colt mccoy.
Trying to pick a QB in the Draft has proven near impossible
Unless it was John Elway or Joe Borrow there are hits and misses constantly
You just cannot tell until the guy gets a shot
The knock on Joe Montana was he did not have a rocket arm
Only Belichek liked Jones coming out of Alabama
Fromm will get his moment to shine, and if he lights it up there will be a lot of posters in hiding on here
Ok whatever we'll see .. .I'll be rooting like hell for the dude . He is a giant and anybody but Jones at this point including Glennon who I am convinced won't look much better even if he does clear concussion protocol.

Joe Montana? All these guys that you guys are saying Montana Brady. They all had great coaches with great systems. Not take anything away from them but, all of those things came together , and they simply got better. Also Montana was drafted 80 somthing overall in the 3rd round not 5th round.
Having said that I would like to see Fromm next week. It would be too hard for Glennon to comeback after concussion and play well so quick; if he is capable of playing well. Or maybe put Glennon in late in the game if Fromm is stinking up the place.

Clean pocket compliment of #71&79. Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson!
Perfect, cuz we broke.

made me remember what a clean pocket looks like. Time after time after time.

Moves well in the pocket
Throws a well placed and extremely catchable ball
puts air under the ball thus the arm strength criticism
He looks better on film than Jones and Glennon for sure and I
realize its a highlight reel
no one expected anything from Warner and Montana either coming out of college
He should start Sunday for sure
Daniel Jones does not have this kids intangibles
You are out of your fucking mind.

Great Footwork and balance

He reminds me of their style of play. Not saying he should be fitted for the gold jacket just yet.
Both guys were the greatest game managers of all time
“He doesn’t have a lot of arm strength, he isn’t mobile, he’s just not an NFL quarterback.”
some more positive comments too, but there's a reason he lasted til the 5th round in a QB starved league.

Maybe for a couple games, no tape on him since Georgia.
Fromm is all there is right now...
Warner was bagging groceries just before he got his shot due to injuries.
Montana was terrific in college but not well regarded in the draft. dont remember how Joe got his 1st start
The key wording I saw and felt from my own view was-
"throws a catchable ball"
Sounds easy but very hard to do in the NFL- both Montana and Warner threw catchable balls
In todays NFL, Rodgers throws a very catchable ball.
Its all all about footwork, throwing on the run, and situational awareness. Jones and Glennon struggle with all those attributes.
The bazooka arm is not as important as the above
Parcells famously said- "QB is 90% between the ears"
