NFT: Anyone take a probiotic?

DC Gmen Fan : 12/6/2021 10:28 pm
Looking to help regulate and boost my immune system with a probiotic supplement. There are so many at so many different price points- it's hard to navigate the noise.

Anyone have any recs?

Thanks

I have an autoimmune disorder that really messed me up, I've tried several and this is the best one I've ever used.

… that has done wonders for my stomach health how I feel all day and my energy level.
It seems complicated but it literally takes about 2 1/2 minutes to make every morning.

Half a mug of water goes in the microwave for one minute.
I cut a couple of thin slices of ginger root and put it in the water before I heat it.
After it comes out I add a teaspoon of honey, A tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar with the mother , a couple of shakes of cinnamon, some cayenne pepper, some turmeric and a squeeze of lemon.

It’s like making your bed, you’ve accomplished something first thing in the morning and it’s going to affect you in a positive way all day long.
The best gut support beyond probiotics is a product called Ion.

and let me tell you, it makes a big difference in strengthening my gut-health.

I introduced a family member to it this summer. They had been fighting an unsuccessful battle with acid reflux and were open to trying it. A month later they confirmed the symptoms had passed and their overall health had improved.

There's nothing to Kefir - ( New Window )

is absolutely right. Shocked to see someone on this site that would know this. Education is the first step to solving your problems. Watch a podcast: Rich Roll #353 with Zach Bush to get a general over view of what we have done to our food supply. Pick up a copy of Fiber Fueled by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz. He is one of the most Knowledgeable people alive on this subject.

Where is your practice located? I am looking for a practitioner who is enlightened to this information. Not many people are.

I do this as well for similar reasons. I basically replaced milk/water with Kefir in my morning protein shake. I wouldn't market it as a miracle cure but my acid reflux and overall digestive health have significantly improved. I have also replaced seltzer or water with Kombucha with one of my meals.

A probiotic supplement is better than nothing but it's always better to look to get what you need from natural sources vs a supplement. I feel many of those have dead probiotic bacteria that you just pass. Make it a priority to eat more fermented foods and get a daily intake of yogurt/kefir, kombucha, apple cider w/mother or some sort of probiotic drink.
Thanks guys.

Interesting responses - love the morning broth one. Kefir looks like it's a pain in the ass to make.

I ended up trying Garden of Life Primal Defense. I'll report back. The others recommended are on my list as well.
You can buy Kefir as well

You don't have to make it.
