Giants’ free medium Pepsi giveaway somehow gets worse

M.S. : 12/19/2021 9:00 pm

"As it turns out, the giveaway is not for all season ticket holders. Rather, the single soda can only be obtained by the season ticket account holder. That means no matter how many season tickets a person has purchased, they are entitled to just a single soda."

Maybe this was the Mara's big thank you to the fans for all their negativity all year long. In which case, he is having one big laugh tonight as he absorbs one more lousy season under his management.

A 30 cent beverage to say thanks to the fans who have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on tickets? It's pathetic. But when the team is in the middle of one of the worst seasons in one of the worst 10 year stretches the organization has ever seen its insulting.

Not if it's something that's at least half way cool.

Hey, they earned this. Not every fan out there is happy to eat shit, drop thousands of dollars per year for a shitty product for a decade straight. Can't blame them.

And again, as they should be. They've been the laughing-stock of the NFL for a decade now and alot of these fans have paid thousands of dollars per year, on top of the PSL payment when they first become a season-ticket holder.

It's good Mara and Tisch have fans like you on here to defend them, though.

I’ve wasted more than my share of time and money on the shitty product, in and out of the station. The soda promotion cost me nothing. You are right I don’t see how the soda promotion cost me money or loss of enjoyment. My sympathies to the season ticket holders though.

+ infinity

This franchise is in the toilet in more ways than one. Nobody should be going to these godawful games. Nobody. Some folks like to eat crap it seems. Save your money and do something else---anything else. Stay home and watch the game. This way you can avoid traffic and change the channel.

I sold my tickets to this game in early October, because I sold my seats I never received the email with the code for the free soda.

So that means, if i went to the game and sat in a buddy's seats I still couldnt get the soda because I sold my seats.

Leg of Theismann : 12/20/2021 8:37 am : link
Between the cost of the tickets, the time and effort it takes to get to the stadium, go to the game, and get home... combined with the fact you're usually standing outside for 4 hours in weather close to freezing... the only thing that makes going to a football game worth it typically is the fact you get to see your team put forth a valiant effort and potentially win the game or at the very least make the game exciting. When that doesn't happen, and you increasingly see opponents fans growing in numbers each week as they cheer and laugh and jeer at your team and walk out of your building with triumphant glee, it's not only not fun but it's also depressing.

Hell I don't even enjoy watching the games on TV anymore much less wanting to go through the effort of going to games. I was back in NJ for Thanksgiving and went to my first game in 2 years (vs. the Eagles), and that was fun simply because I went with family and a friend, but I don't see myself doing that again for another 2 or 3 years. I used to try to make a game *at least* once year, but I don't have the same drive to do that anymore.

I live in Nashville and was "lucky" enough that today the Giants game was on down here. Typically that would be something I really look forward to all week (even as recently as earlier this year). Today I recorded the game and later just took like 20-30 minutes to fast forward through watching it mostly just to see if Michael Gallup did anything because I started him in fantasy. It's also funny from the start of watching it I already just KNEW the Giants had lost (not that I'd seen the score or anything) and I knew I was just watching to see exactly how they lost. It was one of the first times I've watched one of their games where from the very start of the game I never actually believed there was even one iota of a chance they could win.
not today

Pepsi Probably Paid for this Promotion...
Jim in Tampa : 12/20/2021 9:05 am : link
and if they didn't then it was paid for by the company that runs the concessions at Met Life.

Whoever paid for it spent about .12 for every soda that was redeemed. I figure a miximum of 30,000 sodas which cost about $3,600.

The only mistake the Giants made was labeling this promotion, "Fan Appreciation Day". If they had called it "Free Pepsi Day" then I don't think anyone would have had an issue with it.

Haha yeah exactly. Maybe if they wanted to show the fans appreciation they would have announced a full house cleaning is in store, here’s a drink to wash the decade of bad taste down your throats…instead they genuinely think this little of the fans that a Pepsi and maggot filled hot dog makes us happy.
