5. NEW YORK GIANTS: OT IKEM EKWONU, N.C. STATE Record: 4-10 Strength of Schedule: .532 Take one look at Ikem Ekwonnu, and you can safely assume it will be a long day at the office for anyone standing in his way. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, he not only has the size, but he also has the tape that evaluators will love. He’s a true eraser in the run game and has some of the most punishing blocks of the 2021 season for any offensive lineman. Size and strength have always been Ekwonu’s game, but he really took his pass protection to the next level this year. He’s really started to hone in on the finesse part of his game, and that combo will likely spell a top-15 selection. |

6. NEW YORK GIANTS (VIA CHI): EDGE DAVID OJABO, MICHIGAN Record: 4-9 Strength of Schedule: .524 If we’re talking about traits, Ojabo is one of the first players to come to mind. His rare combination of size, speed and power were put on display as a total package this year, and while his teammate Hutchinson got most of the publicity, it was Ojabo’s presence that forced teams not to run away from Hutchinson as much as they wanted to. Ojabo’s 11 sacks were tied for the 10th in the country in 2021. |
Would need to get an edge in rd 2 or maybe early 3 pick
Tyler Linderbaum
Devin Lloyd
in the first round in that mock draft. That would really suck.
Add those 2 plus a steady vet in FA (Ryan Jensen?) and next year will look a lot different.
I bet u it won’t be to high for Ojabo after the draft process.
Always curious when changes happen throughout the cycle whether these are driven by 1) genuine leaks from NFL personnel guys to the mockers, 2) the mockers own analysis, or 3) mere boredom and the need to create new and slightly different content.
In the case of Cross and Ekwonu rising, I hope its #1 and these guys are true top ten-worthy OT prospects.
The question would be...who would teams be trading up to get? Definitely not a QB. There's not a lot of studs past the first 3-4 picks. We need Detroit and Houston to keep winning.

Position of need by the teams projected to have those picks?

I hear ya, but a) there’s no guarantee who the players will be other than, unless they trade it’ll be 3 picks in the 1st rd.,and B) you can only be concerned about improving your own team…..look at Seattle when they put together a contender with 4th -7th rounders….just pick well.
