Here is what my prediction is from a messaging standpoint. The words that he uses to communicate this message is debatable. This will happen after it is announced that Dave G is leaving.
1. We understand the fans frustration and we are just as disappointed as they are.
2. although not evident in the win/loss column, we believe there has been improvement in the team (cite a few examples).
3. The organization is moving on from Dave Gettleman. We believe he is a good GM, but we are doing this to appease the fans.
4. We believe in Joe Judge. I know the results are not there, but we are confident in his ability to turn this program around.
5. The organization also has confidence in Daniel Jones, but the decision about who plays QB for the team rests with the coach.
6. we will do everything we can to restore a winning tradition here
Bonus- When asked about the medium Pepsi - We made an error in judgement there and did not think the fans would be so emotional over this. In retrospect, rather than offer a medium Pepsi to the account holder, we probably should have given everyone who entered the stadium that day a coupon to use at the concessions.
And none of it matters.
If Chris Mara takes over Football and hires a GM and John is out of the picture, that probably actually is a better formula for the Giants. Chris at least scouted or something. He may not be great at it, but he did the job, which is more than you can say for a lot of other families with NFL ownership.
He will talk about Judge having some growing pains but they believe in him. The new GM will be involved in the decision on the coaching staff, but Mara believes he should stay and would be hard pressed to be persuaded otherwise (leaving the door open to change course if he goes on another incoherent rant).
He is mad. Nobody is more upset than him. Everyone is on notice...yada yada yada.
2. Although not evident in the win/loss column, we believe there has been improvement in team culture.
3. The organization was sadden to hear that for health reasons and to spend more time with his family, Dave Gettleman has informed us of his intent to retire when a successor has been named.
4. We believe in Joe Judge. We know the results are not there, but we are confident in his ability to turn this program around. Coach Judge's "process" is a key foundation to build on.
5. The organization also has confidence in Daniel Jones, but the decision about who plays QB for the team rests with the coach.
6. We will do everything we can to restore a winning tradition here. We have great people in this building and have every confidence in the Giants Way to restore winning to the organization in the near future.
I said it last year and I'll repeat it this year. No one is more disappointed than me. And Steve for that matter.
I am aware of the frustration of our fans, and their desire for change.
After careful consideration using internal and external sources, we have concluded the best people to bring winning football back to our fanbase are already in the building.
We believe in the systems Dave has installed and think his last two drafts are winning drafts. And we believe in his team. So, we are extending Dave for two more year.
Joe Judge is a terrific young HC who was saddled with variables out of his control this year. Specifically, injuries. We were one of the teams with the most starts missed by players. And that directly impacted our record. So, Joe will be back.
Finally, we are committed to Daniel as the long-term solution at QB. Before he was injured, we liked his trajectory and couldn't wait to see him play with his full complement of players. Daniel can lead this team to the playoffs. Everyone is excited to have him back.
With all of that said, I'll take questions...
Nobody is more disappointed in our record these past few years and nobody is going to work harder than me to get this situations fixed. I will do whateverever it takes to get this turned around. We want to give fans a team they can be proud of again.
I still believe in Joe Judge. I believe the players believe in him and want to play for him. He is a natural leader and we believe his future is a bright one.
There is a better chance that the Washington Animal Police captures Sasquatch.
RE:
More like:
We made an error in judgement there and did not think the fans would be so emotional over this. In retrospect, rather than offer a medium Pepsi to the account holder, we probably should have given everyone who entered the stadium that day large Pepsi.
Better still:
We made an error in judgement there and did not think the fans would be so emotional over this. In retrospect, rather than offer a medium Pepsi to the account holder, we probably should have given everyone who entered the stadium that day a bottle of whisky to deaden the pain while having to watch this shit show.
Better still, STILL:
We made an error in judgement there and did not think the fans would be so emotional over this. In retrospect, rather than offer a medium Pepsi to the account holder, we probably should have given everyone who entered the stadium that day a barf bag.
Wait, they are stuck in a time warp..RC Cola..

My turn:
1. I understand the fans frustration and no one is more upset than me.
2. We believe we have identified weaknesses in the organization and have taken steps to strengthen those areas. Those steps will pay off in the years to come, although not evident in the win/loss column this season.
3. Dave Gettleman has informed us of his intent to retire when a successor has been named. We thank him for his loyal service. Some of the improvements Dave has made will make the job much easier for the next GM. Fans can't see that, but we can.
4. We believe in Joe Judge. We know the results are not there, but we are confident in his ability to turn this program around. Coach Judge's "process" is a key foundation to build on. Again, fans can't see that, but we can.
5. We are still confident in Daniel Jones, but the decision about who plays QB for the team rests with the coach.
6. This season, and the last five seasons for that matter, have not lived up to the Giants winning tradition. We have great people in this building. But we understand that no matter how great our people are, we have to do better. I said a year ago that it's time to start winning. Now we're overdue to start winning.

He'd just name Chris interim GM and then ... that's how it will stay for awhile. LOL.
As a result we will remove ourselves from the football personnel side of the business.
With the help of outside consultants a GM will be hired and have total, uninterrupted control of football personnel including the scouting department.
We apologize to the Giant fans for our terrible performance and believe that hiring a GM with complete control will restore Giant pride.
Mara was answering a question about the Eli benching and he said he did not expect the fans to be so emotional over that decision.
It told me two things...
1. He knew of the decision and likely was part of it before it happened.
2. It is the reason why the Giants held onto Eli at least one season too long.
-We thank Dave for his contribution to this franchise. He was an integral part of both the 2007 & 2011 Super Bowls. He worked hard to turn this franchise around despite battling cancer.
-The new general manager search starts immediately.
-Joe will be retained. Steve & I still think very highly of him and he has implemented numerous changes within this building that we feel good about.
But, aight. Aight. Ya’ll got the mini stax we need so Davey G gonna step off. He needs to spend time wit his fam anyhow. So we gonna search far and wide for the next genny manajizzle. Fo shizzle. We reachin all da way out to Earnie Da Rug, and he gonna tell us who to roll wit in the Front Office. Aight? Happy now, whiny-ass bitches?
Now, sum youse think we gonna put it hit out on Da Judge. But Da Judge pass sentence on you, not da otha way round, aight. Yeah, when this season dropped we hoped to go platinum but it don’t always go. Sometimes it just be like that, aight? But ain’t nobody panicking round here. We doublin down, heard? He gonna be judge AND jury this year.
Finally, let me tell you bout deejay DJ. He is rock solid! Just, like that slate rock that’s kinda flakey, you know? So we gonna bring in some big roid hittin bad men, and they gonna protec his ass like Fort Knox. And Saquon gonna run all over the place, and Toney Toney Toney gonna ball, and Golladay gonna make dolla plays!
Mic drop…Johnny out.

LOL
This. Remember his whole deal when the PSLs came out? Essentially he didn't want to do it and felt bad but ultimately had to do it to cover construction.
Same bullshit.
I hope someone in the press will ask him why Leonard Marshall is not in the Giants Ring of Honor.
Thanks for every dollar you send, god bless,
John Mara

I think at this point I'd rather see him cede control to Kate Mara!

My advice would be to change any mention of 6 wins to 4 and repost last years press conference.Take out the Gettleman stuff too
🤣🤣😂
He will also add in a round-about way is that he knows what to do and the fans are just fans.
