He likes Peppers a lot.
He seems to like Engram to.
Engram has seen reduced snaps lately and been embarrassingly bad on blocking assignments when asked to help the OL last two weeks. Peppers had serious injury for how he plays, and Giants have plenty of safeties to move around now.
Neither player is taking a vet minimum contract which is all the Giants can afford.

The ERFAs on the list will be back. None of the RFA are worth the minimum $2.4 M tender. Of the UFA, Johnson is the only one I would try to bring back.
The only pre-camp cuts I see for sure are Dixon and Ximenes. Shep also but hopefully he retires.

because cutting his 5 million creates 2.5 million in dead money. Rudolph should be a good litmus test to see how much authority a new GM has in his first year (which IMO is probably the most he'll ever have). If he's on the team next year, it's meet the new GM same as the old GM (the Mara family).

Rudolph is a 7.4M live cap hit and 2.4M dead cap hit.
Cutting his $5M salary saves $5M cash and against the cap.
Five years of this guy reminding us all of another failed first round pick. That and how tight we are cap wise. Peppers is another FA. How much can we afford for a guy who is in recovery from an ACL.
Not because the Giants don't want them back. They will be overpaid by another team.
Peppers is better in my opinion and in some ways similar to Landon Collins. That is the contract he will be looking for and more. I like Peppers and would like him back but not for that money. Pay Love and move on.
Engram I do not want back, but there will be one team that gives him more money than the Giants can. I could easily seem him become a Saint.

And with a coach that knows how to use Engram he will be a very competent player. He is a large WR, not a TE. His drops have improved considerably and he is not someone who should be blocking in the run game. Giant fans need scapegoats and with Engram off the team someone else will emerge as the reason for the inept offense, rather than an inconsistent and inaccurate QB, a horrible OL and terrible play calling. Barkley shows great potential to be the next object of the fans' anger and frustration.

Uhmm.....we don't have any cap space to sign anyone. Even if Judge wanted to bring these guys back we absolutely don't have the money to do so. We probably have the worst cap situation in the league (in addition to the worst roster....thanks Dave!!!!)
He had always been a consistently good wr especially in the slot and put his body on the line with some awful throws over the years. Don't know what still happen but I Wish the guy the best
Maybe 9 years in the NFL is long enough especially considering the year he had and he got hurt from the line bad play. Kinda pathetic he is my favorite Giant and he kinda sucks.

100%. I was hoping he’d retire 2 years ago after the concussions. Add in the Achilles and his contract, and the cap situation, and I can’t see him back. But I always appreciated his contributions.
is really mind boggling. He is basically an arena football league QB but, leave it to BBI dreamers to make him some hidden Gem Joe Montana that 30 plus scouting departments missed ....

Mrs. Glennon, my advice to you would be to get out of your dead end marriage. Your husband will be unemployed in a week so it’s probably in your best interest to start looking for a less horrific QB to help support you and your habits. Maybe reach out to Joe Flacco on social media? I know you’ve posted about your crush on him and his “skills” this season. Good luck, it’s time to warm up that money maker!
Danny Shelton
John Ross
Billy Price
Levine Toilolo
Rudolph's restructure was very small, probably a short term payroll move. He is still a potential $5M cap savings and should be gone.
Agree, shyster these names are near top of the list, brings the total to close to 40% of the 53 man roster. Giants setting records with three complete tear downs/rebuilds in five years. Hard to be so bad.

I said he kinda sucks. My guess is no one actually seen Glennon play a snap before he was here and have no idea what he can and can't do. Why are stinkers like Jones and Barkley getting a pass though is what I can't comprehend. Just dreamers dreaming I guess....
Glennon has made over $30 million in his NFL career

Sad but true, been saying this about Engram for years, but they insist on him trying to set the edge in the run game.
Also notice that for years now most of his drops/deflections (for pics) are in traffic, crossing patterns. He makes his best catches on the outside, along the boundary (feels less anxious, able to concentrate more?)
The list really speaks to the lack of talent on the roster. Expect to see a lot of turnover and if it results in a better overall roster, then go for it. There will be a ton of opportunity for drafted players, UDFA's, etc. to earn spots in 2022. If the Giants can't do better than Glennon / Fromm at backup QB, it would not be a good sign.
RE: Glennon has made over $30 million in his NFL career
I’m trying to figure out how what he has made in the past means that if he’s jobless after this season he’s somehow not considered unemployed? Isn’t being jobless the exact definition of being unemployed?
negatively, should be gone. Period. Virtually no one on this roster will help this team win. The only reason to keep anyone is because of a cap hit, since we have ZERO room going into the next league year.

My guess is another team will pick him up for like another 1 year deal. Either that or he'll like one of these guys on who does occasional commentary on espn.

it is also kind of strange to label a professional athlete who has been playing for 9 years in the NFL and is already in retirement age after being a multi millionaire as "unemployed". Your implication is like he is a middle class guy who got fired from his job and can no longer support his wife on a sustenance level. And you use this hyperbole wife thing a lot btw. you need some new material man.
probably retire to his couch unless someone gets really, really desperate next season
Glennon was and I am sure still is what Glennon is; a decent back-up whose arm strength enables teams to keep most of their playbook open that would otherwise be shut to many back ups who lack NFL thowing ability. 3 garbage time games on one of the worst teams in the NFL if not the worst isn't going to change anyone except BBIer s looking for someone to blame since Garrett got fired.
they need bodies and i dont think he had an awful year.... not good of course but wasnt awful
Tim McDonnell apparently signed Rudolph, he's going nowhere sadly.
I think Fromm depending on how he does today has a chance to at least be invited back to training camp.
He seems to like Engram to.

Didn't Solder opt out last year? Maybe had the same results as if he had played.
You can depend upon it.
Possibly Engram as well.
What colossal F up Gettlman has been He jettisoned all these gus and for what?

Shepard was drafted a year before Engram.

The Giants really need to find 4 starters on that OL this off-season, as well as upgrade the depth and find a swing tackle....with no money.
What a mess.
