Jim Harbaugh Told Recruit That He’ll Entertain NFL Offers

Doubledeuce22 : 1/8/2022 6:00 pm
Fire the entire front office and coaching staff and give this guy a blank check to come here. Find a GM that he wants to work with and vice versa. He is by far the best coaching option out there right now with a proven track record. He also embodies a lot of the traits that this organization apparently prides themselves on. With the rumblings that Tisch wants a full organizational evaluation done this couldn’t come at a better time. Make a good decision please Mr. Mara.

Is he really?

I'm not saying he's not a good HC but he had an insane amount of talent in SF. There is no perfect candidate.
Harbaugh

Comes on strong I feel like, but then he fades quickly.

Yes he is. He helped shape that team in SF and is very good with the players. Who’s a better candidate? Another promoted coordinator? How has that worked out so far? I’m done with these could be coordinators right now. This team needs some sort of stability.

So the pastor asked him if he is going to the pros?
Hard pass
GMen72 : 1/8/2022 6:11 pm : link
He had a one hit wonder QB in SF. Other than that, he was an average NFL HC. Other than this year (still overrated), he was a dud at Michigan. He'd be an upgrade over Judge (most coaches would), but not worth the money he'd ask for.
He finishes strong
cosmicj : 1/8/2022 6:17 pm : link
Univ of San Diego final season 11-1
Stanford final season 11-1
49ers play in three NFC Championships, two close losses and a win taking them to the Super Bowl where they lose to a terrific Ravens team on the final play
Makes Colin Kaepernick into an emerging QB talent
Leads a premier program in Ann Arbor where they just had their most successful campaign

You can point to his flaws but c’mon. Mara - make it happen. Give him full control of Giants football and wander off with Chris to the stables.

This is a joke, right? He has a .695 winning percentage in the NFL and .722 in college. What are you watching? He was a dud in Michigan? Michigan sucked before he got there and he has had them ranked every year and finally beat OSU this year. He hasn’t been a dud at any level of his coaching career. He took over a 6-10 49ers team and lead them to 13,11, and 12 wins with Colin Kaepernick. At Michigan he took over a team that had 5 wins and has gone to a bowl game every year. Michigan was horrible under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke.
Of course he will "entertain" offers..
EricJ : 1/8/2022 6:26 pm : link
anyone would. You would at least LISTEN to the offers and would be a fool not to.
He also had Vic Fangio running his D
Simms11 : 1/8/2022 6:36 pm : link
and that’s a big deal, plus they had a tremendous amount of talent there.
I would love to land Harbaugh
Jay on the Island : 1/8/2022 6:40 pm : link
He has proven to be a QB guru. If Harbaugh wants one of the QB's in this years draft then by all means draft him but I would prefer to wait for 2023 for the better class. It would be very exciting to imagine Harbaugh working with a talent like Stroud.

Of course this would never happen because Mara would never bring in someone like Harbaugh.

A one hit wonder? He turned Alex Smith into a very good starting QB then went to the SB with Kaepernick the following year in his first year as a starting QB.

No chance in hell Mara pursues Harbaugh because Mara fancies himself as some football savant & would never give up power to JH.

Clown show.
The Giants have tried all the other personalities at HC

Why not try the whiny bitch personality?

He has that covered perfectly...

He was pretty insufferable playing against him haha. I’ll give you that. The Giants need a proven coach right now that can return stability to this organization. Whiffing on another coordinator when this guy could be had would be a Mara like mistake.
He isnt coming here.
CV36 : 1/8/2022 7:08 pm : link
Oakland is most likely and I wouldn’t be shocked to
See him in Chicago.

And guess who is going to be available soon… Vic Fangio. If Harbaugh can bring Fangio as his DC? Oh hell yes, sign me up!

Has been UM is going to meet his demands. He wants to stay at UM, but if they don’t meet his demands he’ll look at the NFL
And yea

He wouldn’t come here

Average NFL coach, hahahah
Not that I am against a proven head coach but
shadow_spinner0 : 1/8/2022 7:48 pm : link
many of the top head coaches were coordinators when they were hired. Idk why fans are scared of hiring one. What you don't do is hire a BB coach. The most successful tree currently is the Shanahan tree. If Nathaniel Hackett becomes available, he should be a good candidate. Although that means changing the offensive playbook, it will upset "continuity" preachers but for the team it will be the best.

With that said if Harbaugh or any other proven coach comes in, I won't be upset.
Hard to say his resume is much worse than Coughlin's after the Jags
widmerseyebrow : 1/8/2022 8:18 pm : link
He's a nut but honestly that might be what the Maras need in that front office.

from your lips to gods ear

They need to give harbaugh
Justlurking : 1/8/2022 9:46 pm : link
Whatever he wants. Anyone thinking otherwise is delusional. Guys with his track record are either already employed or don’t exist
Only a desperate team would hire Harbaugh
Vanzetti : 1/8/2022 10:02 pm : link
The guy is a nut job
The only two coaches
aka dbrny : 1/8/2022 10:17 pm : link
That have led the Giants to win Superbowls were a little nuts. Guys with force of will large enough to overcome the organizational dysfunction. A guy like Harbaugh might be our only hope. Not the kind of coach we would want…but the kind of coach we deserve and maybe need.
Harbaugh is the perfect guy for a turnaround
PatersonPlank : 1/8/2022 11:31 pm : link
IMO he's like the Billy Martin of football. Turns things around but eventually wears out his welcome politically. We need a guy who knows how to build a team, not a "manager".

Michigan still sucks. They played a real football team and got their doors blown off. But congrats on finally beating OSU for the first time in the last 100 years.

They’re not on the same level as the SEC but none of those teams are. They are still a good winning program since he took over.
