What's up with all these dupes on this forum lately?
If you people in the organization think we the fans, however diehard, will continue to endure this dumpster fire of a franchise you have another thing coming.
They are a game away from making the playoffs with a back-up QB, a secondary off the streets of Baltimore, a 5th string RB...and on and on and on.
Cmon you are better than this. You know that Baltimore has lost their last 5 games in a row since the injuries and covid have hit. The big hit being Lamar. Sure they survived the RB fiasco early on but they have a really good OL. They will likely not make the playoffs and will end the season on a 6 game losing streak.

If anything Baltimore supports his argument
The Ravens lost one of the best LTs (Ronnie Stanely) in the game before the season started. Their RBs were destroyed before the season started. Their other great TE, Boyle, has been out all year. Their top rookie WR - Bateman - missed half the year.
And, of course, LJax.
But here is the key point - the Ravens are in EVERY game. They lost some heartbreakers. In 4 of their 5 losses, the total points they lost by was 5. That included Harbaugh's question choice to go for 2 at home vs Green Bay versus taking the tie for OT.
We, on the other hand, are uncompetitive in almost every game.
Giants would be a playoff team if not for injuries and Covid
you could probably pencil in 2-3 wins
maybe on the cusp for competing for WC but everyone has injuries we did have a couple of tough ones early (gates and blake)
issue is we would still lack a pass rush
Oline would still be poor just not horrible
offense would score 17 a game maybe
we would never beat a good a team, only a couple more average ones

The Ravens have a lot more talent than the Giants. They have a good defense that keeps things close, regardless of how bad the offense is (which is really bad now). Close or not, because of a good D, they will end the season with 6 losses. They will have gone from 8-3 to 8-9 and miss the playoffs. I don't believe the Giants would have made the playoffs like Dittino says, but the Ravens are no poster boy for why he is wrong. If anything the Ravens support his argument
Make the playoffs and maybe win their division had their coach not gone for two twice. There is no guarantee they win those games but they guaranteed a loss by missing both times. They are not the best team in the league but they would beat the giants 10 out of 10 times if both teams are completely healthy.
Wow, just wow.

People get hurt, according to Gettleman, so injuries are his responsibility . Every team has to manage COVID and NY/NJ had some of the strictest regs so not an excuse either. And as noted above, the Giants were basically out of the playoffs when at full strength at 1-5. So if Paul said that he’s wrong, just like he was wrong saying fans are being mean to Gettleman

He can’t so he ignores it. No one should take what he states about the team seriously. IMO the term shill has been thrown around loosely here, but it applies with Dottino.
Every team has dealt with Covid and injuries, all have faired better than the Giants. Injuries revealed how poorly put together this team is and how poorly coached they have been.
When Dottino refers to how poorly Glennon has played, and asks what should we expect on offense, no one ever asks him what Glennon is doing on the team
Injuries have been a factor, but not an excuse for being non competitive

Just look how we came out on fire the first six games. You could tell this team was bad when we got smacked around easily by the mediocre Denver Broncos.
this douche and Dottino. this offense in 2 YEARS has scored 30 points ONCE. You pretty much have to have the capability to score 30 on ANY week to be a playoff worthy team. Both of these dummies don't seem to get that.

but he is a bit off base at times. I love his knowledge and passion of NY Giants football but I respectfully disagree that the Giants are a playoff team. Not even close to a playoff team even when you factor the injuries and COVID. Until the offensive line is rebuilt and has proven, adequate o-line depth the Giants will continue to be a losing team.

The Giants could lose every game for a decade and Dottino would be singing their praises and making excuses for the losses. He’s an embarrassment to WFAN and to his profession. He’s the biggest shill on the planet
Last year’s team won 6 right? A look back at the prediction threads would likely support that most thought this past offseason’s additions could result in +\- 2 more wins.
The 6 win floor seems accurate and unfortunately the injuries led to +\- 2 less wins.
After hopefully a successful offseason, maybe the floor climbs to 8.
He might be right - they may have been a playoff team but...
That's not the point of this season. The point of this season is we learned that we don't have a front office nor coaching staff that can manage through adversity.
If not for covid, if not for injuries, if everything else went right, sure, this group could have earned a playoff game.
But nothing ever goes right. You must have an organization that can adapt, can pivot, can come up with legit contingency plans again and again.
Can work with what they have.
We don't have that right now.
We could have all nice and great men working tirelessly as has been stated before, well even so, let them go work tirelessly at something else and let's get a different group of nice men in here who can also work tirelessly and maybe have success at it as well.
only won six last year because they played in the worst division in football and historically the worst NFCE in NFL history. People were deluded by a 2-3 game win streak middle of the year with teams that didn’t take Giants seriously. They collapsed in December, per usual and right on cue.

You realize Dallas and Philly were decimated by injuries last year, right? And Cinci had no Burrow. He got hurt just before the Giants game.
SO you want to discount the Philly and Dallas and Cinci injures but use the Giants injuries this year as an excuse?

What Dottino said has one advantage: It’s irrefutable.

Ehh- Not too much of a homer, are you?
I don’t see any excuse making in my post. I see a team with a floor of 6 wins and a likely ceiling of 8 or 9 that ultimately only won 4 out of 10 games with their QB1. If believing this team would have won 2-4 of the other 7 games had they had QB1 makes me a homer, so be it.
Feel better? I know you live to snuff and stamp out any rationalism or God forbid any optimism.

Did you not say injuries were a cause for only 6 wins? Let me copy the post you typed just in case you forgot:
You specifically said INJURIES>
Nice try though trying to weasel out of that. You sound like another incompetent NY Giant employee.

Reality is losing QB1 for essentially 7 out of 17 games is going to cause most NFL teams to lose +\- 2 more games. Typical NFL wisdom says you hope your QB2 can go .500.
This will be my last response to you. Talking to emotional jilted lover types is exhausting. Feel free to respond with a witty quip that makes you feel good about shouting down a long time BBIer who’s simply discussing the team.

yes you are making excuses. First off your premise was LAST YEAR they won 6 games so this year without injures they should’ve done better.
Yet you completely IGNORE that both Dallas and Philly and Cincy lost to Giants last year BECASUE of injuries. .
And thank you for no longer responding to me. I’m tired of incompetent Ny Giants employees pretending like they know what they’re talking about while throwing out excuse after excuse. Please don’t reply to me ever again and keep the comedy clown show to yourself, okay?
You’re the kind of guy who punches holes in his basement walls when the Giants disgrace you with another loss, aren’t ya.
I mean you think I’m a Giants employee posting excuses. I’d actually enjoy a little chuckle imagining how furiously hard you’re mashing those keys responding to anyone who’ll fight ya…..but it’s really just sad.

Looking forward to a new GM leading a revamped scouting and pro player eval dept. I think there are a few good candidates.
I don’t get into the nepotism stuff because it’s wasted energy. The right GM makes the nepotism talk fade away.
Let the new GM decide on Judge. With that said, they’ll never get out of this by firing coaches every two years. It’s an interesting situation. I hated John Mara forcing coordinator changes on TC. I wish they reinforced the trenches and stayed with TC/Gilbride until Eli was done. But Judge’s offensive blind spot scares me. He needs a strong OC to make it in this league. The new GM needs to determine if Judge can find him.
Tl/dr: New GM
New OC and system
Draft talent that fits the systems at any position.
If possible, lean a little towards the trenches if the value is there.

Is that rah rah?
What's rah rah is that you established the Giants as 6 win team as a baseline because of last year without a consideration that at least 3 wins were due to injuries from the other teams then you rah rah the team this year citing 2 or more wins form the baseline of 6 if they were healthy because of injuries.
Every season has a number of games that factor either way. It’s semantics. Saying this year’s team had a floor of 6 wins isn’t rah rah. It’s a realistic opinion based on what I observed last year. Go back and read the prediction threads and you’ll find it’s a fair assessment.
What was your assessment going in?
With QB1 playing 15 games (he’s prone to miss a couple)

No- it's not semantics. You are making excuses for the injures this year beucase you are minimizing how the Giants got fortunate with 6 wins last year. Below is what you said --
Using your methodology of saying this year's team should've gotten 2+ more wins this year, if you do that then you have to use the same methodology of last year being fortunate because of other team's injuries.
You can't have it both ways.
As for my assessment most of the summer and into camp I said 7 wins but then I changed it just before season to 8 because I figured they might split with Dallas.
================
"Last year’s team won 6 right?"
==============================
RE: With QB1 playing 15 games (he’s prone to miss a couple)
This team should have won 6-8. With QB1 playing 10 games, this team should have won 4-6. They did. Barely.
I’m not making excuses. It was a wretched season. Just too much piling on and emotional knee jerking for a team most viewed as mediocre at best.
You are making excuses by the fact you bring up injuries for this year and excuse the wins from last year when you established yoru own arbitrary baseline.
It's not "Knee-Jerk."" It's realization how awful this team is.
Last year with everything that went on with Covid and loosing 26 early, 6 wins still fell within the range I was expecting. Ok so they caught a couple of teams at the right time. And? That’s the nature of the league.
This team’s margin for error is and has been very small due to their continued inability to pass protect when they have to and disrupt the passer when they have to. The points before half stat illustrates this glaring weakness so well. And this weakness can be traced back years.
Losing QB1 for 7 games and losing 2-4 more than expected isn’t an excuse. It’s cause and effect. Look at the Ravens. They lost a lot of players and kept battling. However losing their QB1 for 5 games has led to them losing their most games in the last 6 years.

Again you can't have it both ways here. You specifically used a baseline of 6 games to start the season because of the wins from last year and you aren't citing injuries at all which were beneficial for these wins but you make a reference to count the 2020 6 wins as relevant.
Yet when we looks ta three of them and they were clear it had to do with injuries for the three teams all of sudden you are diminishing the 2020 season.
You can't go and count the 6 wins on one hand while ignoring three of them due to injuries yet then claim it's injuries that have caused the Giants such a poor performance.
Secondly, in regards to Jones injuries - how many would they have ben favored if he was healthy?
Third, yes injuries are a part of it but certain players - certain positions --are going to get injured. For example, many of us said the Barkley pick was incredibly dumb. Part of the reason was that we k new RB’s get banged up and are easily hurt. So for the people that defended the pick, what did they say when he got hurt? They said “if he didn’t get hurt then he would’ve been fine.”
But that’s the reason why you don’t take him. And you are doing something similar here with Jones. The Giants “run” him. He’s a threat and teams plan for him. But running him on designed plays is also a risk. You have to expect he is going to get hurt.
SO similarly, you can’t have it both ways here. When he plays his strength has been also as a runner so he risks injury. And if Giants win you give him kudos. But you also have to expect by the very fact of what makes him successful in this manner, you also have to expect he is gong to get hurt.
SO you can’t take much stock into your point “What if he was healthy?” Because his style is a bit reckless anyway and that is more apt for him to get injured.
That's the price you are paying (injury) for a some wins that he produces when he is healthy.
+1
I doubt it though.
They are a game away from making the playoffs with a back-up QB, a secondary off the streets of Baltimore, a 5th string RB...and on and on and on.

The 6 win floor seems accurate and unfortunately the injuries led to +\- 2 less wins.

This will be my last response to you. Talking to emotional jilted lover types is exhausting. Feel free to respond with a witty quip that makes you feel good about shouting down a long time BBIer who’s simply discussing the team.
If this actually is someone connected to the Giants and not some troll, they’re even more pathetic than we imagined

yes you are making excuses.
I mean you think I’m a Giants employee posting excuses. I’d actually enjoy a little chuckle imagining how furiously hard you’re mashing those keys responding to anyone who’ll fight ya…..but it’s really just sad.
You poor scorned lover.

Keep your skirt on.
Yeah rah rah team, right?

You see the issue?
What was your assessment going in?
I’m not making excuses. It was a wretched season. Just too much piling on and emotional knee jerking for a team most viewed as mediocre at best.

"Last year’s team won 6 right?"

You are making excuses by the fact you bring up injuries for this year and excuse the wins from last year when you established yoru own arbitrary baseline.
It's not "Knee-Jerk."" It's realization how awful this team is.
