tells us that the Giants are screwed as long as he's still in charge. Nothing is going to change. If Mara can't see that he needs a complete house cleaning after the last 10 year shitshow product he's put on the field there is no hope for this organization at all. None.
Doesn't really matter if we keep Judge for one more failed year or not, the fish stinks for the head down and as long as Mara is calling the shots we're going to be one of the worst teams in the league year in and year out.
saying that Gettleman was the sole problem. I don't see Abrams doing a shakeup of scouting/personnel or telling the Mara's to back off. And I don't think many of us believe that this is all on Gettleman, even tho he did play a big role.
likely provides Judge the longest leash possible, it's easy logic.
The problem is the head coach can’t even manage his own job. Has no right to argue for changes above him that he can work with. This is not a SB winning HC or a proven program builder like Carroll or Harbaugh.
If Mara is smart, he sees through this ridiculous ruse and he fires Judge.
Yes. Shout out to Essex. Glazer is a reliable source and he is not often wrong. Essex deserves an apology to those who lambasted him on posting his earlier thread. Asshat info is always welcome.
likely provides Judge the longest leash possible, it's easy logic.
Yep, Judge is starting to strike me as a guy who doesn't want to be surrounded by strong people because he's afraid they will become competition. Garrett was probably picked as the sacrificial lamb because he was a long time head coach and a threat.

You and I can see it, if you understand football at all you should be able to see it, but will Mara. Huge flah point for the near future of NYG.

disagree...would think bringing in a Pats related GM brings him the longest leash because a GM is going to get 3-4 years and if they like judge can keep him.
Abrams isn't going to get 3-4 years to fix this...he has been in the building.
Mara can't be this dumb because the optics would looks so bad...or could he be this dumb?
Calling for Judge to be fired is a big thing. Strahan is still tied in with the Giants and talks to a lot of defensive players on the team. That’s interesting and possibly troubling how Judge is viewed inside the locker room.
Sometimes players keep playing for each other, not to keep the HC.
RE: The fact that Mara is still considering Abrams as next GM

I've NEVER had less hope as a Giants fan.
Just because Judge is pushing for him, which as Sean pointed out makes sense from his perspective, doesn’t mean Mara is considering it.
I know it s been reported it s what he would like to do, but it s also been reported he is aware of how badly this would be received
Judge may feel that this gives him a better chance to sway Abrams to the players he (Judge) wants. Gives Judge more of a say in personnel. It's what a lot of us want in a coach. We currently don't like Judge to be that coach.
This may also be what the Maras want as well. Chris can be the behind the scenes puppet master while Abrams is the face of the GM position and coordinate the show.
Or, both entities (Judge/Maras) actually think Abrams can run a quality team.
It need not be about desperation, although that angle cannot be ruled out.
and Abrams should both be fired. It isn't even close. So should Petit and everyone in the Mara family. But I don't think it will happen. My guess is Judge is retained.
Another asshole going out on the limb with his 50/50 bullshit
Way to go Jay you useless insider. I would have way more respect for you if you came out and said that you do not know anything and have no inside info but your gut feeling is this...
and say that the only way they can win is if he has control of player personnel decisions. Putting Abrams as GM (who doesn't have scouting experience), effectively does this.
Of course, this leak could have come from Mara so that the fan base will be happy when Judge is retained and a new GM is hired.
He has now shown himself to be a pathetic yes-man of the highest order. Do and say anything to save himself including throwing other teams under the bus, other coaches under the bus, etc. Mara may be a tone deaf dope, but even he has to see how weak his franchise looks.

he could absolutely be this dumb. every move he's made since 2015 has been wrong, and each move he's made has been worse than the previous one.
we all hope he is going to snap out of it and break the cycle he's been stuck in since 2014-15, but usually past performance is the best predictor of future performance. so i wouldn't count on mara doing the right thing. if his track record is any indication, we can count on him doing the wrong thing.
We already know that DG is gone. We've been told that Mara will go outside for a GM, possibly reluctantly, possibly due to pressure from Tisch and the NFL. But we've been told from multiple sources that they will bring in an outside GM. If that's the case "Let the new GM decide on Judge" really isn't an option. Its going to take weeks or months to hire a GM. For his own sake Judge cannot be left hanging. Either he needs to be told he's extended or he needs to be told to find another job.
Another sign: Other NFL teams replace injured or ineffective kickers. Other teams sign backup QB's with a pulse, especially when their starting QB goes down for the season. The fact that this team didn't, the fact that they didn't lift a finger to give Judge the tools he needed to play some semblance of competitive football tells me there's an acknowledgment that its all getting blown up after the season.
DISCLAIMER: On the Yankee threads I posted loudly that I thought Boone was gone. Obviously I was wrong, so take it how you will.
is normally tuned in to what's going on around the league. I'm inclined to think JJ is returning, but if Glazer suggests otherwise then that is something to keep an eye on.
Judge can succeed here as head coach, there is no way possible he should be allowed to force Abrams into the GM role.
Chris I enjoy your posts here. I do have to ask, what makes you still have confidence in Judge?
I thought he had a positive first season, not great, but positive. I definitely thought he was starting to change the attitude around here. I felt that if he’s having to make personnel decisions with a guy who is clueless, having to run an offense with a coordinator he didn’t want, and starting a QB he didn’t pick, it was worth seeing what he can do with all those things changed.
Unfortunately the last month with the Bears postgame press conference as the cherry on top, I’m just not sure what’s going on anymore. I don’t think he’s going to get the chance to fight out of this and it’s very hard to argue against his firing at this point.
The tweeter that implied Judge said something unbecoming a few games ago says that the evidence was sent to ESPN. So if that tweet is true we'll find out this week.
Wise man.

yup essex had good info. He basically said judge is campaigning for Abrams to stay on.
This is hilarious!!!

Elevate Essex to "insider"!
Could also show his desperation

This flies in the face of our hearing he’s been safe and only recently it’s gone to 50-50.
But given what he said about the WFT this past week, you have to believe that they are in for a tough game today.

Think it’s the other way round.
I would venture a guess Judge was safe until last week’s postgame presser.

Not accurate. Glazer said it was tough to read but he thought he was safe but the last month has been so bad, he might be in trouble.

Alas, the fix is in - the human soliloquy stays.
+1
Also, Jimmy Johnson pulled no punches ripping Judge

It seriously makes me feel like I need to root for a loss today. It's almost unthinkable but here we are.
