Giants owner John Mara has said he will have to be “patient” with Judge, given his lack of previous head coaching experience. But lack of experience is not Judge’s issue. It’s hard to see how a guy who already thinks he knows more than anyone in the league can learn anything. Judge’s issue isn’t lack of experience. It’s lack of character.
His name is becoming synonymous with "lack of character" around the league and in public. He is not just losing, he is doing it while humiliating the team and himself.
Judge can't be back next year. If he is, John Mara needs to just step to the podium this week and say "We'd like to win football games, but that is not our primary goal."
area, they just want something to brag/talk about. They were really blowing up Judge's comments all week on the radio waves. Giants were an embarrassment before yesterday's game regardless of comments.
where the Giants are the laughing stock of the NFL. Sure, the Knicks have been a big joke in the NBA for years. Sure, the Mets had been a big joke until Steve C, but the venerated New York Football Giants organization?
Never.
Yet, they are the biggest joke in football right now.

Thanks John Mara!
This is absolutely true. But the problem is that the NFL people Mara talks to would never say that, so he likely doesn't believe it is anything more than fans and media complaining about losing.
I don't think John Mara truly understands what the perception of the New York Giants has become.
Judge has earned criticism, but this piece is just Sally piling on. She's just stoking the flames of an already enraged fan base.
Quote:
How about a team that so surrenders, is so lacking in gumption, that on a second and nine and then third and 11, it runs two quarterback sneaks and punts.
QB sneaks and punts are coaching decisions, not players giving up on the HC.

Then read today’s Steve Serby column in the Murdoch Post.
The Washington Post is one of the best, most respected, most ethical, highest standards publications in the country. But you probably should stick to the NY Post or The Enquirer.
I usually think Sally Jenkins is great, but this is a little out there. The Colt McCoy part and the defense of Jason Garrett...
BBI is going to be a shitshow for the next few weeks. People really refuse to remember, before the team's (not solely Judge's) questionable offensive playcalling, that the team was teetering on the brink of slight improvement when the defense got their shit together this year. Then we were forced to play games with the slenderman at QB and an offensive line that patchwork lines would be offended to hear described as such.
Judge's rant was inexcusable and he's truly been a clown the past few weeks - but that doesn't mean the man has no character. I feel like mustanglover when I'm reacting to BBI today, so I'll just leave it there. But Jesus, it's amazing how quickly we forget how we got here.
Judge will get fired here, and get second HC chance and do much better somewhere else...
who is giving judge a second shot after what he's shown here? he is a the worst coach in the league by a wide margin. he has denigrated three coaches/clubs to the media in pressers, including his own club under prior HC shurmur.
he is a disgrace and should have never been hired. in fact, only reason he was is because mara was too cheap to bring in rhule.
that Judge said that they were going to be aggressive. Punting on 4th and short in opponent's territory, the dreaded screen or draw on 3rd and 15, 4 passes in the first half, etc. Of course, the icing on the cake was the two qb sneaks.
What's that they call somebody that says one thing and does another?
And she does this type of article better than anyone.
but, lets calm down about Colt Mccoy and Garrett ok.
If those two decisions happened in a bubble, I would agree. But, they were in the midst of a couple of seasons of extreme failure and embarrassment, that fell in a decade of the same.
This is not different than those who try to explain away a single loss as a moral victory or a single Jones fumble. If you are a winning team, a single loss can often be explained or overlooked. But, when you downright suck, each loss is one more of the same. If you never fumble, losing the ball can be a great hit or on the OL. But, when, at one point, you fumbled at least once a game on average, then losing the football is more of the same.
This is no different. This isn't just a bad decision about a backup QB or OC. This is about a multitude of bad decisions made by the same individuals.

Ooph yeah. That was brutal... lol
Never.
Yet, they are the biggest joke in football right now.
Thanks John Mara!

They blow just as much.......
Why only past and present tense? We WERE, ARE, and WILL BE an embarrassment.
They might be but this piece is spot on. Can't argue with any of it.

They blow just as much.......
They swept us this year.

Lol exactly. Never let the truth get in the way of ones politics.
Nice!
Judge is a fraud and she spelled that out beautifully.
but, lets calm down about Colt Mccoy and Garrett ok.

They swept us this year.
We had been 5-2 versus them before yesterday's game.....no great shakes but what does that make WFT?
Perhaps the WAPO should have revised their article to, welcome to the party pal!!!!!
