on that. He’s not a football guy but there is a report he hasn’t been happy about the organization for “sometime”. I have a guy feeling he’s throwing his weight around more this time around.
I want to buy this, but I think The Dove has shown too many times where he falls in line with Mara.
But if he finally had an epiphany, let's hope he really starts using his 50% say to chop down the Giants Way.
Judge is just keeping his job for now, there has been no confirmation he is staying and metting with Mara and Tisch tells me they are basically telling judge for now you are coach but it will be the new GM deciding your fate
He was told to get guys and make it work with the cap - which he did. Not sure why some of you are all over him. He did his job. There is no evidence that I have seen tying him to the decisions that were made regarding who to pay.
If that is all he has done that’s fine, the issue really is we want a voice from outside the building to take over because whatever they are smoking inside the building isn’t working and Abrams has been here 20 years . We need a new outlook

As long as he has no say in the GM search, I would sign for that right now. No GM worth his salt is going to keep him unless they are friends.

Yep. Remember last year when the Eagles fired Pederson like a week later. Feels similar.

then why hasn't he interviewed outside the Giants organization once? Any non-gm worth a damn gets interviewed for openings. You think the entire NFL is just sleeping on this guy? He is trash just like Joe Judge is trash. If they got fired today they wouldn't be getting another job with any other team.

If you want to play it like that, there also isn’t any evidence that doesn’t tie him to those decisions. Or at least nothing showing he was against it. He’s been in the organization for a very long time; never really recall his name at all when this season comes around, except when it pertains to the Giants. If he had qualms about the way things were run, he’d have moved on years ago. He didn’t. He’s comfortable. If he were promoted to GM, it would be completely obvious where the strings were actually being pulled.

it doesn't sound so much like they had a real meeting, does it> not really...
I'm starting to think they are realizing in real time they are done with him, maybe let the incoming GM do the deed, after they sweat his arrogant ass a bit.

They had to restructure contracts this year merely to fit small bonuses under the cap. That was literally his job. I don’t see how that mismanagement would earn him a promotion.
I think joe judge gave ownership a big FU yesterday,
Except for draft picks no cap space to change very much. Might be best to let Judge coach a lame duck year then bring someone in who will be in a position to succeed.
the narrative is starting to build. I feel like I can see the scenario where Abrams and Joe is gone as per the new GM.
Judge told Mara he'd like Abrams to be his GM, and Mara basically told him to go fuck himself.
Credit to Mara for the first time in ages. Gotta give credit where it's due. I'm so happy.
If this were the narrative, Mara would simply fire Judge now.
Obviously there is more to come from this, but it seems like Mara is trending towards allowing the new GM decide what to do with Judge. Of course, that could all change tomorrow.
I’m starting to think it will be Poles, and he’ll overhaul the entire front office and scouting department but he’ll keep Judge
Why? It sends a terrible message to the team if you keep Judge...winning isn't important. The new GM needs to set a new tone that the past isn't acceptable.

Why would he keep Judge?
+1.
There’s NO part of any qualified GM that would want Judge. And if proposed all he’d have to say is ‘Judge damaged your image, and the fans remember’.
Because there is no way on Earth that they would keep Judge AND promote Abrams. The fall-out from that would be horrific for them. By declaring they are going outside gives them cover to keep Judge one more year while giving the GM the ability to fire him after a season of evaluation.
The Maras have no desire to be paying for 3 HC's at one time so Abrams becomes the cast-off. And Abrams really is in a great spot as is making really good money without the heat of a GM

Sources: Giants assistant GM Kevin Abrams is not a candidate for the team’s open general manager job, and will not interview for it.

I’m completely shocked. This is the biggest revelation for this team in 10 years.
This will be the first time in nearly 40 years the Giants will hire a GM who doesn’t have senior management experience as a Giant.
First of all, these guys are writing stuff like, "my unserstanding..." Where are the sources.
Second of all, if true, it could simply mean nothing more than Mara understands the optics at this point of keeping Judge, while promoting Abrams. So, maybe, not promoting Abrams, in his mind, justifies anything else he does to the fan base. He could not interview Abrams and still have a GM he considers a lackey depending on what they actually flist on that person behind closed doors in their interviews and meetings.
This is why the organization is a clown show. Literally anything and everything being thrown out there doesn't seem so crazy for this team.
First of all, these guys are writing stuff like, "my unserstanding..." Where are the sources.
It's good to be cautious with these beat reporters but I heard this as well, actually mentioned it weeks ago.. These guys are just finally catching up.
if Abrams told them he didn't want to interview for the position. He is a very smart guy - spare the owner the issue of disappointing the inside guy. Anyone in that spot could read the tea leaves.
This is where things logically were heading over the last month
or so as the wheels really started falling off. Just made sense so no sure why the surprise; or as mentioned, why anybody should be upset. These are good things...

So every single thing will be damage control or a farce instead of actually learning from mistakes?

Next step, and I’m feeling optimistic based on reports, is to let the next gm make the decision on Judge. That would be the best move.
As long as he has no say in the GM search, I would sign for that right now. No GM worth his salt is going to keep him unless they are friends.

Now just waiting on #2. #1 was inevitable, but #3 was in the mix for awhile.

Maybe the guy is actually in touch and we end up with schoen and daboll or something similiar

Was kind of wondering the same thing Chris.

Are the happy or pissed about how wrong they seem to have been about what Mara would do?
Why?
Serious question, what makes you think he has done a good job with the cap?

If they follow through, sure. Results first.
