Not sure how I feel about the current crop of QBs in this draft but I think with a new coach and GM on the deck, drafting a QB may be on the table. What do you guys think?
would love to trade Barkley and move down with one of our picks to gather 2023 picks as well.
Agree. Imagine if we had anyone but Saquon at RB the past 2 years. Same results- couldn't have been any worse. I don't see how his "leadership" moved the needle any, either. And any 'star power' he brought the team has worn off. If you can trade that player for assets, especially when it's tear-down time, you do it. Forget where he was drafted, at this point.
There's hardly anyone on the team who is tradeable. They certainly won't bring back much. They're coming off injuries, or they're on prohibitively expensive contracts, or they have been straight-up lousy.
Thomas is tradeable, but he looks like a foundation piece. I might consider trading him for a top-10 pick, but why? Good left tackles are hard to find.
Jones might bring a crappy pick, but he's coming off injury, you'd never get value for him.
Toney, injured a lot. Slayton, lousy. Shep, injured a lot and not great. Golladay, expensive and lousy. Barkley, injured and lousy. Bradberry, expensive. Martinez, injured. Williams, expensive. Dex, meh at best.
I want all these guys to thrive but they haven't.
RE: I don't think Barkley has any trade value right now.

I think a Barkley trade has to be conditional and therefore invole picks in 2023 draft. I would think a 2023 3rd pick that can go to a 2 if he plays 14 games or a 1 if he hits 1200 scrimage yards or something could be worked out.
There isn't one special player on this team. There a few nice pieces, but not one cornerstone, building block player. If the new GM and HC see a signal caller they can groom to be their guy, they will pull the trigger. You are not winning in this league without a QB. It's just that simple. If they feel Jones isn't the answer, prepare yourself to probably throw the remote when a 1st RD QB is announced for the Giants.
That fake slide was one of the best plays of the year, pro or college.
Just concerned about his size.
I've watched 5 years of Pickett....he is ok nothing special. He had a great WR and the best WR in the country. He was mediocre his first 4 years. He had a special year but not top pick worthy.
The QB class next year is much better. I would actually compare Daniel Jones very similarly to Kenny Pickett. Both guys are good athletes, both guys are accurate passers. Both don't possess big arms.
Wait for the franchise changing QB and fix the trenches first.

Who is that guy? Young just doesnt do it for me. I saw him choke in a huge spot last night. I think waiting for the perectc qb prospect is silly

Jones isn't accurate and Pickett's arm looks better than Jones'.
As I said on another thread, roll with Jones. This year's QB crop is Goff/Trubisky/Wentz level. We will find out if Jones cant play or new GM/HC dont want him: if they trade down to pick up a 2023 1st rounder to aim at Stroud/Young
Why deal Barkley? Fix OL and scheme and see what he can do.

Unless you're Go Terps and think teams should draft a QB every year, most people realize no QB is going to succeed on this league worst roster.

I think Jones is a turd, but I feel much better about them using 2022 as a reset year and keeping him around and figure it all out.

I think we already *found out* Jones can't play.
