Definitely. But while I think Garrett gets too much heat around here, I think he was probably the only grown up in this god forsaken mess. Notice how things really started to unravel once Judge ditched Garrett...
RE: RE: Jason Garrett was at his wits end dealing with Judge per clip
Mara had to screw everybody and not just allow Judge to bring in his own OC.
I think this narrative is being oversaturated a bit even if there is some truth to it. Judge was struggling initially to get an OC (he didn't have one ready to go apparently). He got frozen out by Bills from lateral move with Daboll and a couple QB coaches got promoted when he tried to interview across league. He didn't think Schuplinski could call plays. That's why he ended up with Garrett.
Judge got a massive staff put together, but frankly it was not with a lot of quality. He had to reach into lot of college ranks for some of his position guys.
He had trouble getting good people outside his NE network to come here and work. That's a flag. These NE guys seem to burn their staff a bit and micromanage.
Now we hear news of staff being on eggshells and many looking to bolt even before things got bad the last month.
All the evidence points to Garrett holding the offense together.
I think the BBI debate around Garrett is confused. No one believes he is the Bill Walsh of his era. But I think it’s highly likely he is at least a competent play caller, though maybe an unimaginative one.
Those blaming him would have us believe that Garrett - a smart guy who has been around the NFL his whole adult life and was heavily involved in the offense of a well run franchise like the Cowboys - was unable to run even a bog standard offense in New York and thus was hamstringing the whole Giants team. So the claim is that Garrett wasn’t even mediocre at running an offense. I find that pretty claim really, really hard to believe.
Neither Kitchens nor Garrett are great OCs but neither were ultra conservative at their former jobs. It's pretty obvious JJ controlled how aggressive they could be, to the point where the offense bogged down under both. Having a bad OLine and no solid QB played a big part...but the offense has been mostly a Judge problem.
Wouldnt be surprised if more stories like this/behind the scenes stuff start trickling out over the next couple days.
Guess that explains why Sale bailed even before Judge was out.

more like the airing of grievances

Than there was the Saints game, with our offense looking pretty good, and Judge walks off the field like he lost the Super Bowl.
Then the kids joined in....
haha!!!
