Does JJ get another NFL HC job?

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 1/11/2022 9:16 pm
My old man asked me this on phone.

I am 99.9% certain he doesn't.
I don’t see
cjac : 1/11/2022 9:17 pm : link
A scenario where that happens

I feel bad for him. He should have gone to Mississippi State
No chance
Giantophile : 1/11/2022 9:17 pm : link
None. But he will get a college gig and thats where he belongs, IMO.
If Jim Fassel never got another gig
RELICDOA : 1/11/2022 9:19 pm : link
I’d say no
No. And he is headed for Division 3 or

High school coaching
Not anytime soon
Anakim : 1/11/2022 9:20 pm : link
Maybe in like 10 years
He's young enough to rehabilitate himself
HomerJones45 : 1/11/2022 9:20 pm : link
become a successful HC in college or get an OC or DC gig, he could do it. Hopefully, this was a learning and growth experience for him.
Throwing other coaches under the bus
bdre992 : 1/11/2022 9:22 pm : link
Will keep him away from the NFL for the rest of his life.
NFL HC?
SirLoinOfBeef : 1/11/2022 9:24 pm : link
Nope.

College coach. That's more his speed.

The stink of this dumpster fire is going to follow him around for a long time at the pro level
he needs to have a specialty
Producer : 1/11/2022 9:39 pm : link
that isn't special teams.

If he can one day distinguish himself as a coordinator - perhaps he'll get another shot.
i can't imagine it ever happens
japanhead : 1/11/2022 9:42 pm : link
it is shocking to think how much worse he was than both mcadoo and shurmur.

in addition to the bad and regressing on-field product, he shit-talked the giants previous head coach and the head coach of the team he was set to face the following week, in a game he demonstrated his penchant for gutless give-up playcalling.

i can't think of a more pathetic display of coaching in recent memory. even matt patricia was better.
Hard to say.
Hades07 : 1/11/2022 9:42 pm : link
Sometimes coaches get a second chance even if nobody expects them to and others you think who would, don't get another chance

I think a college will make him an offer and he will be very good there.
How could he?

Needs to show humility about his mistakes and rebuild his CV. I’d say there’s a 20% chance as he is smart and ambitious.
in 5 plus yrs maybe
Payasdaddy : 1/11/2022 9:49 pm : link
but he may have to go back to ST
college HC makes sense for him
I would pull for him there

But to be honest there's really nothing there. He didn't show any signs at all that he could ever be a good coach. There's nothing you can point to and say...at least he has that.

Feel he goes to college.
Why would he go back to the NFL?
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 1/11/2022 10:10 pm : link
If he goes back to Saban, he rehabs his career and likely has the Miss St. job in 3-4 years.

If he goes back to Belichik, he's likely an assistant for life like Weis, Crennel, Patricia, etc.
is there a resource for coaching lessons?

He's 39?

Maybe in 10 years.
Only way is if he eventually gets a major college HC job
BigBlueNH : 1/11/2022 10:28 pm : link
and excels there. Don't see him making his way back as an NFL special teams coach.

His mouth might have killed his nfl future. I do agree he got a raw deal to a large extent in what he had to work with. That happens though, esp in that business. Hes good with words and he knows it. Hes been able to talk himself into and out of whatever situation he wanted his whole life. so when his back was against the wall he went back to that well. He said more more more when he should have been saying less. Another mistake, maybe in hindsight, he was outwardly positive wrt the players, to the point it became a game of him trying to convince us the sky was purple. The OL sucked. we know they sucked. call them out, but in an appropriate way. "we need better OL play. This is not nfl OL play. It needs to be better or guys need to find another line of work." something. anything but the continual telling us things are all going according to plan. we know theyre not. its insulting. he protected the players too much when it came time to start holding these assholes publicly accountable. instead he insulted the intelligence of the fanbase. just played the whole thing terribly from a PR perspective.
Ever is a long time - after some more years on a staff somewhere
PatersonPlank : 1/11/2022 11:57 pm : link
he very well may get a 2nd chance. He could sell this as a learning experience and now he's more ready. Happened to Shurmur and others.
I wonder what Brown fans were saying
rasbutant : 1/12/2022 12:00 am : link
after the team fired a legion? Serious question, i don't know?

No snarky responses of comparing Judge to a legion needed. Seriously wondering what lead to the firing and what fan sentiment was at the time.
I saw lots of positives,….
Racer : 1/12/2022 12:00 am : link
…but Judge has a lot to clean up, alright?
He'd have to go back to college and be lights out as a head guy
widmerseyebrow : 1/12/2022 12:05 am : link
Even then it's a stretch.

No way he gets another head job kicking around the NFL as a special teams guy or position coach.
I think other than his mouth and record the biggest strike
BestFeature : 1/12/2022 12:10 am : link
against him is that it's just really hard to be an ST coordinator Head Coach. If he were successful here then that's one thing but he wasn't.
Nope
The Jake : 1/12/2022 12:44 am : link
and I’ll take it a step further - many of the players we turn over from this to next season or two won’t ever play in the NFL again either.
if the rumors of him
Platos : 1/12/2022 1:15 am : link
being such a hard ass on his staff is true probably not.

They were all looking for other jobs. You can see a bunch of them had positions already lined up

I'd wonder if he gets another NFL job, at all?
GMen72 : 1/12/2022 2:48 am : link
Wasn't smart to throw other NFL coaches under the bus. Showed immaturity and lack of character, that doesn't just go away in the coaching fraternity.
Seems like going back to New England
Ned In Atlanta : 1/12/2022 6:30 am : link
repair his reputation would be his only shot. I think insulting Ron Rivera, who I assume is highly respected in coaching circles, is something he's really going to regret. To a lesser extent the Shurmur comments were probably very short sighted as well.
no
