I congratulate management for making tough choices to reboot the franchise.
It is time to admit the game has changed and a run-first, defense-centric, philosophy is outdated. The rules have been changing for four decades to favor offense-oriented, QB-centric football.
it is time not to continue flying into headwinds, but to get with the program and adopt a winning philosophy. No to Zimmer and Zimmer clones for HC.
Let's get a GM and HC that want to adopt a wide open and high-flying offensive system and get the players it takes to make it work - starting with a search for an elite talent at QB. And work at getting that talent by any means necessary. No more prolonged scholarships to *evaluate* subpar talents.
The QB is not a cog in a machine. He is the general. We can figure out pretty quickly who is a general, and who is not.
Happy to see the message came through that change was needed. Now lets see them follow through with action in who they hire.
Owners own, GMs manage, coaches coach, players play.
Strong OL, strong running game, efficient passing game, stout defense that stops the run and gets after the passer.
That's the Giants Way. Sure would be nice to actually do that.

Great analogy. And I don't want to hear about playing in the Northeast. GB, Buff, NE, KC all play in cold weather environments and have adapted to today's modern passing offense.
Giants way is Blockbuster and the league is Netflix
We got Blockbustered
Old school. Cronies network. No eye on the prize with ownership and mgmt
Every industry changes . Giants haven't
Hoping for the future to be the next Netflix.
In short “Progressive” is a political term that has an elitist strained meaning in American politics and life, and actually internationally. It does not apply to football when spelled with “P”.

The best thing that could happen to the Giants is they revisit the fundamentals that won four Lombardi's.
Put as much flash or "progressive" ideas as you like but you can't out progress certain fundamentals as important today as they were decades ago.
Sure was nice having a good OL. Physical backs. Wr's who were outstanding blockers. Front seven with multiple impact players. Corners that could man up. Safeties whose presence made WR's think twice. HC's who demanding accountability and took responsibility. Physicality. Speed. Power.
That's still a big test. But you have to feel bullish based on yesterday.
And then the next biggest step will be finding another QB solution. That's going to be critical.
We haven't seen The Giants Way since Super Bowl 46 ended.
A balanced offense that can run the ball as well as throw it and a dominant physical beat the piss out of you defense..Ill never want to go away from that. Football is still a game of infliciting your will on the appointment. It's not 7 on 7. Usually the stouter team and team that dishes out the most pain wins.
Good line play makes everything on the team look better and gives you more margin for error.

Over the last decade the Giants lost their way
It is not a high probability approach.
You are saying we need a great DL, and great LBs, and a great OL, and probably a great secondary. You have to a) hit on all these systems at the same time and b) keep them at a peak for a sustained period.
Hitting all these systems at the same time is like hitting a three or four way parlay. It is highly unlikely. And then, when you do hit it, you can't keep these systems intact, so your reign is short.
Whereas, if you adopt a pass first approach with an elite QB, you are in it every season, regardless of the makeup of the rest of the team, which you can certainly improve over the tenure of your QB.
You may say it is hard to obtain an elite QB. Well it is easier than hitting a 4-way parlay at OL, DL, LB, DB that can elevate a team to a champion. And it is the far surer route to sustained championship opportunities.
The numbers say, don't buck the trend toward offense in this league. The numbers tell you how to build a roster for sustained success. Why can't we play the smart way, and maximize our chances at success.
Please share some examples of teams that resemble this. Please also explain what “in it” means to you.
I immediately think of the 2011 Giants. Then I remember the 2012-2014 Giants and realize “regardless of the makeup of the rest of the team” is complete nonsense.
Lastly, elite QBs get paid elite proportions of the cap, typically hindering your ability to “improve over the tenure” and thus shrinking the window to be “in it”
The problem may be you are not recognizing there are a lot of components necessary in building a champion team. Winning the lines, balance, good defense, running game are the most proven ways to still win however you want to dress it up.
Want to run some spread concepts? Fine. Add some power element to it.
Want to throw the ball deep often? Great, get in 2nd and 5 consistently first.
Want to get pressure on the QB? Great, stop the run and put him in 3rd and 9 more often than not.
Etc.
