Look, I am as furious and saddened and tbh pissed off as any fan today. I saw the comments Re the tape delay today too. After reading the transcript, I thought tough questions were asked and answered. John Mara loves this franchise more than any of us on this board ever will. If you don’t believe that, well shame on you. He has his money. This is personal to him and if that didn’t come across in his answers today then shame on you. The questions asked were not lay ups, they were pretty direct. And I thought JM answered them directly. As an attorney, he could not answer them in the way you might want with fire and brimstone, but I truly felt they were sincere and he even said this was the worst he had ever felt about the franchise.
We are all hurting. The total reset we are again going through sux. But you should at some point give credit that ownership feels it too. This is personally emotionally and embarrassing to them. They have their money. This is a storied franchise. It is personal to them even more than we feel as fans. I’m just saying to still be disappointed/upset and recognize ownership feels the same and even more. When reading the transcript of the ownership statement today, I felt it was sincere and they addressed some very direct questions. Maybe not too ant all want to hear, but maybe some have had some assumptions that weren’t true.
Keep an open mind.
If he really wants the Giants to rule again, he'll hire the best football people and have the family members get out of the way, whatever their titles.
Don’t be naïve.
I can fake tears if the onion is pungent enough.

You have the right as a fan to be angry even if you don’t feel ownership has more at stake than you on an emotional level. We will all go through an angry phase. We are in it now. We want change. We are seeing it now.
He clearly recognizes the old way doesn’t work anymore. He’s blowing the whole thing up. GM from outside who has what appears to be full reign with the coaching decisions.
This is a huge step in the right direction for the franchise.
the sloppy way he handled the eli benching and ensuing fallout was pathetic. and then we learn today that mara had no clue that there was significant and growing tension, judge and gettleman.
john mara is out to lunch.
hopefully he's somewhat realized the precarious state he's in, that he hires the right GM, and proceeds to get the fuck out of the way.
The Giants earned that kind of vitriol...but let's call a spade a spade. It literally doesn't matter, the bitching is going to happen every single second until they start winning games.
If it bothers you, might have to tune out Giants social media, including this site, until 2023 when they might be a .500 club.
It’s funny as people bring up the Eli benching which sux, but has nothing to do with today.
Ownership acted today. Did you not want them to? They did what we all wanted them to.
As a fan, will you support the massive changes they started today or will you criticize them?
Tbh is kinda sad how bad the team has performed and fans focus on shit that isn’t an issue.
vs.
Other teams where an owner is not involved in Player personnel decisions and their draft are way more success than the Giants.
I applaud change, but don’t just do the obvious window dressing. Just be real and if you are going to blow it up and start from the bottom, be worthy of your convictions and look deeper into the problem.
Eric was right. All he need do is take family out and get real football personnel involved, real experts.

This needs to end. Are you a football operations expert or just a venting uninformed venting fan? Seriously? Ownership wiped the slate clean today and what is your beef? JM even angrily addressed Chris Mara’s role. Btw Chris is an owner of the team.
Nor do I have to.
John has two choices: Remove both from their roles, or just make Chris the d@mn GM. IDC, but you have to be real. Lots of attorneys act well in front of a jury, and say things in the court of public opinion they truly would never do in their own lives. Is John being real, or just placating those fans that seek blood lust?
Having the Chris’ in the henhouse has paid $0 dividends. Educated fans see that. Hell, the person who set this site up does. So it begs the question Tuna, why aren’t you seeing the Forest through the Trees? Jw.
Completely agree.
Now it’s possible he’s full of it, but is there evidence of that? I think the question on whether an owners “input” is seen as merely that was a legit one and an insightful one. But it’s hard to know from the outside and may depend on the people in the positions.
Bottom line is Ws. A coach and GM that put up Ws have a lot of benefit of the doubt and the clout to go against owners’ opinion. A guy like Judge maybe didn’t. And Gettlemen seemed to think he knew better than everyone.
I suspect if they’re smart, Giants owners give their input but back up more and really let their coach and GM do their job. If they’re not chastened by this season I don’t know what will do it.
Now it might - for optics’ sake - be better for Chris and other family to get out. But I also understand if you’ve lived this team as a family member your whole life, that’s not easy to do. The team is a part of your family in essence. But maybe move to the Pepsi Promotion department or something…or take a job on another team to broaden horizons and show the pelts. But either way, the GM and Coach questions are the most important and they can’t get it wrong this time without lasting damage. I hope they take the time as they said to cast a wide net, talk to lots of people, and settle on the guy with the best plan, a track record of success, and the ability to execute on the plan.
Funny that you always heard about DG being there, but not the guys who are responsible for gauging college talent…js
Why don't you shut up
