Ed Dodds and Scott Pioli

Sorry if this has already been covered. Maybe I missed it, but does anyone know if either of them has been contacted to be interviewed for the GM position? Particularly surprised I haven't heard Dodd's name connected to the Giants. I know the Bears plan to interview him.

He wasn't interested in leaving Indianapolis.
There were rumors that Dodd wasn't interested

in the Giants job, don't know how real they were. I'm surprised Pioli isn't in the mix, I thought he would be someone the Mara's would be more comfortable with.
Much has been made of the asshat info re: Dodds

He seems like a quality candidate but if it's true he didn't like the setup here, that's his prerogative.

What I would say is it would be strange to feel that way about interviewing with NYG but then interview with the Bears.

Could very well be that some candidates have previously let it be known via backchannels that they have no interest. In addition, management may not be favorably disposed toward some candidates based on prior experience, etc. Let's not worry --- there are a plethora of candidates out there. I'm sure the Giants had already assembled their list of candidates well before the end of the season. Right now, it seems that it's a good group.
The GM list is definitely biased toward a

Supposedly they can relate better to the current younger batch of players.

He went to Texas A&M Kingsville (like his father) and then was in Seattle and Indy. From what it seems like, he is not really looking for the New York metro area atmosphere.
Let's hope...

Pioli is never contacted. We need to stay away from the Belichick tree.

It seems we are actually doing this right. We have connected with the right people in organizations that have had a lot of recent success. Candidates who seem very in-tune with the modern game. This should have been the approach in 2017.

Better late than never - I hope...

let’s see how it plays out but you have to be encouraged by the list of candidates and where they are coming from.

That is interesting, will be more interesting if Dodds takes the job.
