Just finished listening to it and I have to say, for the most part , he did a great job with it. There were some really tough questions in there and he owned making mistakes and admitted that this is the most embarrassed he's been.
I know there's this narrative out there that he doesn't care what happens as long as he's making money and I just don't think that's true. Who the hell would want to show up at owner meetings and know you're a dumpster fire of an organization, especially when you have to deal with the likes of people like Jerry Jones. I'd be pissed that clown is in the playoffs and we aren't. Everybody in that room as rich so the only thing separating themselves is how good your team is.
As far as firing coaches, I think he's made the right moves except for when he fired Coughlin instead of Reese. Other than that, he's been right and he hasn't been afraid to make the change. If anything, I feel like the press went to hard on Judge and kind of let Gettleman off the hook. I'm not saying Judge is a good coach but Gettleman didn't give him much to work with considering the poor drafts and FA.
All in all, I feel like John is going to thoroughly go through all the candidates and make the right decision. I think we're definitely heading the right direction.
TLDR; I think John learned his lessons and owned his mistakes and will make the right decisions going forward. Now, call me Chris Mara and tell me I'm full of shit.
I had no issues with presser.
Let's get a good GM.....and get a great coach with a great staff
Some good luck would be nice
I think all of his seemingly untouchable FO members care - Abrams, Petit, McDonnell, Chris Mara, Koncz...they all care.
McAdoo, Reece, DG, Shurmur and Judge all cared too.
It just turns out that all of them don't seem to be very good at their jobs. Some of them get held accountable and are fired, others don't. That's the problem.
I have a hard time believing it was all on Gettleman. The starters were questionable, and the depth was non existent...that's why the season failed as miserably as it did. Its not like he was sitting there saying "aw shucks, guess this is what I have to work with".
Its the right decision to start over completely. The entire organization set themselves up for failure, especially once injuries came fast and furious..
On another note the conference didn't annoy me whatsoever. I thought he was very candid. Anyone truly complaining about it are essentially just complaining about the Giants and Mara himself (rightfully so)...but there was nothing said in that press conference for people to be up in arms about. Everything Mara and the Giants do is going to be bitched about until they win some games.
Does that sound like the coach and GM making all the decision? Maybe that has been the cawse in recent years but, it not so much in the past?
Watching Mara he did seem open and honest though.
solution - keep the family in the owners box, and hire professionals to run the team
Also, injuries didn't help on the O-line, and who would have predicted that: a) Peart would regress, b) Solder was worse than ever, and c) Hernandez would regress ?
I don't know the full situation. I just know that Getts and Judge wouldn't express their disappointment (in not finding better guys, and more of them) publicly.

I totally agree..but I will take the Giants at their word that personnel moves where collaborative...and as an organization they completely dropped the ball.
They spent money and assets on guys like Nate Ebner, Gary Brightwell, etc...do you think Judge had nothing to do with it? They went into this year with hopes and dreams for the OL, and literal dogshit for depth. I'm not prepared to put the entire thing on Gettleman...the head coach needs to own some of that as well - especially with how much they SAY (to their word) player moves are collaborative.
