"crushing" interviews. So did Joe Judge. That is not a factor. I would rather have a person who cant complete a sentence, but knows the football business inside and out (contracts, scouting, analytics etc) than some person who can be a salesman.
FYI, it's pronounced "Shane"...here's an interview with him

Agreed. At least this schoen has the more experience to back it up.

Wow, that's really stupid.
A GM needs to be a good communicator.
I don't know if job interviews are really the best measure of ability to communicate. It's people presenting the absolute best version of themselves and in a lot of cases, one side trying to give what they think are the answers the other side wants to hear.
The Giants have to interview everyone and complete the process but this is them letting him know, "Don't take another job. You're our guy. Stand by for your offer."

Lol, and this comes on the heels of reports on Judge/GM not getting along. Who needs communication?

You have to be kidding me. There are plenty of people who can get along with other people and communicate their wishes in ways that will be completely satisfactory without "Crushing" an interview. Or, maybe, the fact that "crushing the interview" is some bs that people drop into the media's lap. Either way, this is of so little moment and the fact that people are trying to make this into something more is funny to me.

I took that to mean they were impressed with his knowledge, assessment of the situation and proposal for moving forward. I've interviewed people who were really well spoken but obviously did not have the knowledge needed for the job. I would not say they crushed the interview. Quite the opposite.

Problem is, if you can't complete a sentence it's really hard to let folks know all the great stuff you know about football, how you would apply that knowledge, and how you would communication your plan through the organization.

I was being a bit facetious; my point was that "crushing" an interview is not really what I am looking for as opposed to a substantive track record. Every time one of these interviews is done, we get the tweet so and so "crushed the interview" and my point is I could care less about that tweet. I'm all about substance and if crushing that interview means that the candidate brought evidence of his track record (players he scouted, ways he will change organization etc etc) I am all for it. If he is just blowing hot air but does it effectively, not so much.
2) Moving Barkley to QB and Jones to RB;
3) Sumos on the Oline; and
4) Taco Tuesdays at Timex
Don’t all guys that get hired? Who’s a guy who got the job that didn’t impress?

That’s sometimes how it goes, doesn’t mean option B sucks or you weren’t impressed by him/her.
I often have that thought here.
Agreed. At least this schoen has the more experience to back it up.

Haha well done
We don't care, and it shows...
Yep...difference is Judge was a ST Coordinator. Schoen has been assist GM for years.
But yes, Judge was said to have crushed his interview. But I bet most of the top candidates will do so also.

First thing that came to my mind is: WTF?
That would have been listed in here BBI from some other source before it got to my dumb local newspaper.
