yep...
KDavies : 1/13/2022 3:15 pm : link
should have made the playoffs with that roster....
Wow
Jay on the Island : 1/13/2022 3:15 pm : link
I thought he did a solid job there especially with a rookie QB and the worst WR corps in the NFL.
Very interesting
superspynyg : 1/13/2022 3:17 pm : link
since it was the fact that Houston did not include Watson in the HC search, that boiled over to him wanting out. I wonder if this is a ploy to try and mend the bridge and get him back.
People thought this was coming since
JayBinQueens : 1/13/2022 3:18 pm : link
Saleh is coaching at the Sr Bowl and Culley wasn't
i thought he did a great job
GiantsFan84 : 1/13/2022 3:20 pm : link
that team played real hard. that roster was trash and he got 4 wins out of them and the rookie qb looked decent. what did they want/expect out of this man?

unless he did that tongue thing all the time during meetings and they couldn't take it anymore
Davis Mills
Mike in NY : 1/13/2022 3:21 pm : link
Was probably best rookie QB outside of Mac Jones. Culley was in over his head, but I could see him getting scooped up for an OC position.

I would say about the very last thing we need is another WR with an injury/concussion history lol
Would you rather have

Davis Mills or Daniel Jones moving forward?
Flores makes a lot of sense there
bigblue12 : 1/13/2022 3:35 pm : link
with Caserio in place and supposedly he was in love with Deshaun. Maybe they get him to change his tune.

Never had a chance there.

Mills, no dobt
Rough deal for him
Jerry in_DC : 1/13/2022 3:40 pm : link
They got more than anyone could've expected from that group. But he got some $$ and I'm sure this was good for his rep.
Culley

Did a lot better than I thought he would with that roster. Less talent than the Giants and same amount of wins.

Leaves 1 African American HC (Tomlin).

I really like Mills. Rick in Dallas and I were in "full bloom love" with him before the draft... ;)
Uh Oh
upnyg : 1/13/2022 3:44 pm : link
Flores to Houston? Houston keeps Watsom.
Raw Deal
ZogZerg : 1/13/2022 3:46 pm : link
Will all the shit he had to deal with.
4 wins was great work.

I think Houston is going to get some justified criticism here unless there were behind the scenes stuff. Very respected coach who did not have much to work with and the Watson issue on top of it.

he definitely wasn't given a chance. They smoked the chargers and nearly beat the titans to close the season. They had a couple other games where I thought they had no chance and played very well. They might have a good reason to can him, but man that roster stinks. Their top back was Rex Burkhead and he didn't start getting carries until thanksgiving.

Early prediction: Joe Judge will be an assistant coach in Houston next season.

Me too.....he was actually the guy I placed a bet on for the draft as a player who would sneak in to the end of the first round. Lost that bet, but he did have a decent season.
Apparently Houston is going all in for Flores

I heard to keep an eye on Flores there with Pep as OC. It's a possible play to rebuild the relationship with Watson.
felt like this guy
bluepepper : 1/13/2022 4:54 pm : link
was always a one year hire. I suspect they were not serious about competing in 2021 so they hired a place holder. Very strange organization.

ESPN radio said his deal was only guaranteed for 2 years. So, pretty obvious both sides knew this wasn't going to be a longterm relationship.
