They will interview Tennessee’s director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort and VP of player personnel Ryan Crowden on Friday, reports SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.
Especially with most of these guys teams still in the playoffs. Assuming it will be hard to arrange a full on in-person meeting while a guys team is still going.

based on rumors that they had been reaching out to him though back channels and he was the first one interviewed, but in all honesty Peters is the one that intrigues me the most especially if he is paired with McDaniel who I have read is a good young offensive mind.
Who is doing the interviewing ? Sounds to me he is now stepping up and no longer just being a silent "cash cow"
I'm guessing Abrams is heading the team process. I'm hoping it's a new day, more professional and more attuned to 21st Century Pro Football. This list of prospective GM candidates is impressive.
The owners amended the Rooney rule in October 2021:

And considering how much virtual interview platforms were used last year due to the pandemic, the league now requires teams must also conduct an in-person interview with at least one external minority candidate for any GM or head coaching interview.

I'm in favor of the Rooney rule to open the door for minority candidates who may not be on a teams radar, for whatever reason. Obviously it is needed with Tomlin being the only black HC.
I do think it is dumb to have the Rooney rule in place in this manner though. They should not require the time and effort it takes to travel in for an in-person interview if the team does not have an intent on hiring the candidate. That feels kind of inconsiderate of the candidates best interestss IMO.
Stringing them along to "meet a quota". IDK, maybe I'm looking at this wrong.
Trying To Guess Who The New GM Will Be (For The Older Folks)
I like that pairing. Wink will bring back the old Giant defense none of this bend but don't break crap. I also think he will bring back power running game.
Joe Burrow addressed the Wink Martindale comments after dismantling the Ravens defense. Bengals QB Joe Burrow said he was aware of Ravens def. coordinator Wink Martindale's comment about not having a gold jacket yet. Burrow: "I didn't think it was a necessary comment."
when you’ve done searches for skilled personnel for decades and have
worked with professionals to “improve” the process you come to realize
1. in today’s world to be wary of recommendations,
2. to “interrogate” recommenders as almost all are loathe to say negatives, 3. to include as many trusted and not so trusted in the evaluation process,
4.. and extremely important to know the weaknesses of your evaluators
After all that i came to realize that ultimately you needed good luck and at times i thought a random choice after an initial review and cut might work as well as any thing else. However i was trying to select medical residents with an entering class of around 40, not picking one or two. nevertheless luck and randomness plays a role.
Initial process needs to be excellent, but process does not guarantee success.
another. I dont think anyone on this site really has any idea who is qualified to be a GM. Also, we will probably have many of the same scouts we've had in the past. So if you didnt like the picks then the new guy is getting info from the same people.
I cant really get bent out of shape either way by any of the candidates. Id really like to get this part over with and start on the 1st real big decision on his job, the next head coach. That is the only guy you can really get a better sense of what he brings to the table.
I also love the hatred for Chris Mara. No one even knows what he does, yet he is the most hated guy in the organization. LOL. If I owned a team Id probably be involved too. Hes not going anywhere.

A better process will hopefully yield better results.
I think one Minority candidate has to be in person
Solid finalists

I like that they are doing their due diligence this time around.

Smash mouth football would be back.

Aspects that are very relevant to our needs here.
