Just posting b/c he's been mentioned on and off as a potential HC candidate here. No clue whatsoever if this is true, but wonder if the Maras will take notice.

the timeline is alittle off in the story. Doesn't make sense, however i think overall the story has legs.

I wouldn't touch McDaniels after what he pulled with the Colts.

& I think he's waiting for BB to retire so he can ascend to HC in NE. To me, you never wanna be the guy after THE guy. You wanna be the guy after the guy who followed THE guy.

Johnson followed Landry (also Shula, which ended less well). Cowher followed Noll. Seifert did far better following Walsh than he did in Carolina.

Most coaches fail. Most legends leave their teams in decline. So the problem might not be following the legend.
