NFT: Anyone playing WORDLE?

KingBlue : 1/14/2022 10:08 am
It is the hottest new online word game. You can only play once per day. Only takes a few minutes. No ads, no money making schemes. I started playing last week. I won everyday so far. I am 7 for 7. It is addicting. Try it with your coffee in the morning... it's fun.

I have attached a link to a video explaing the game. or just google WORDLE.

I got an X today. I deserve your shame.
Yeah, I've played it a couple of times
Anakim : 1/14/2022 10:17 am : link
I got Abbey in four tries yesterday

Is there an app or a website where you can play it multiple times instead of just once daily?

I don't think so... and that is by design... only one word per day.
I enjoy it, a fun diversion for a few minutes.

Yes!

My neighbor turned me on to this just this week. It’s a great roll out of bed and start your brain challenge. So far I haven’t guessed any correctly within the first 3 tries. Yesterday’s was difficult but I did manage to get it. Today’s took some time but not quite as hard. I really like it
I love it and am dominating
oghwga : 1/14/2022 10:33 am : link
Got very lucky every day with my first guess. There was a good article in the times about it last week. Been hooked ever since.

Start my mornings with that and the spelling bee every day.
I just tried it...
DonQuixote : 1/14/2022 10:35 am : link
two tries...

I'll play again and see if that was luck or skill.

I thought Abbey was really hard and I got it in 6 tries and darn it she got it in 4! I don't know how she did that

two tries is most likely luck. If you can average 2 to 3 tries over an extended period of time you’ll be considered a wordle master
Any strategy

The strategy I start with is to come up with a word that uses the most common letters: R,S,T, N ,L, E (think Wheel of Fortune). For example: Lends or Rents. Then go from there.
Some people use the same word every time
oghwga : 1/14/2022 12:53 pm : link
I try to mix it up every day. Can make it more of a challenge or really easy. It's an awesome 5 minute diversion.

I like using words like RAISE, RATIO, etc. where I can maximize number of vowels and get a few major consonants out of the way. I guess it is possible, but I don't think they would normally go for a word like STERN where a lot of people would have in one or two tries. If you can figure out which vowels and major consonants are not in it that really cuts the dictionary down.
I think i'm missing something.

Searching for it, i find a ton of links to articles or review, but no links to the game itself.

I have a very similar strategy. I am 6-6, 4 of which I got in 3 tries. RENTS is a good start word. I've settled on LASER and then the next word I have lots of options with N, T, and another vowel to play with, along with the info from the first word. At that point I have all the most common consonants and 3 vowels entered, and often on the next try the word is apparent.

Glad I could help your marriage! Of the online versions I found that this one had the best combination of dictionary/realistic word usage. There were others that had more esoteric words or spellings not common in American English.
