Ryan Poles for Assistant GM?

TroyArchersGhost : 1/14/2022 10:21 am
By all accounts, Ryan Poles is an excellent young executive with future GM written all over him, but he's young (36). Since he's just the Chiefs' director of player personnel right now, hiring him to be Giants' assistant GM would be a promotion. He can stay in the job for a few years, build his resume, and leave to be a GM. In the meantime, he can rebuild the offensive line. In 2021, KC drafted Creed Humphrey in Rd 2 and Trey Smith in Rd 6. Both were immediate impact starters and both made the PFF all-rookie team. While I can't say Poles is the reason those two were drafted, he was an offensive lineman for John Mara alma mater Boston College and presumably knows how to scout his former position.

Here's a clip of Trey Smith (#65) pulling from his right guard position and obliterating Austin Johnson.

get a GM spot this go around… and if he was gonna wait, maybe he rides it with KC until next year or near future openings. But I like the way you’re thinking bro, that’s a great idea
There's no time like the present

Has Poles worked for different teams?

Definitely improve resume....if he has multiple teams.....just saying
I don't see him leaving the chiefs

for a new gig where he doesn't have full control IMO. If it doesn't work out, all it would have done is hurt his career trajectory. As long as the chiefs are a powerhouse, he will be in contention for a GM spot.
Too inexperience to be GM now

But would be fine as a No. 2.
I dont see this as a reality.

However I think its a possibility with the Ossenfort, Peters interviews.. especially the Peters/Carthon.. this is kind of my dark horse possibility..

You too! Long live the memory of the late, great Troy Archer.

didn't take a genius. He was a great prospect, a likely second round talent. It only took someone who was willing to realize his medical condition wasn't that dangerous. The Giants could have had him instead of Brightwell or Williams, but Gettleman was too scare that a sixth rounder might not work out.
Well he wouldn't be here long if they did

A year at the most. He is on his way to being a GM somewhere sooner rather than later.
