I see a lot of smart people on here posting articles from there… Dan Duggan is part of that site? Is it worth the cash? I’m fine to pay for something if I find value in it, I just wasn’t sure if the content was constantly good, or just had a good article every once in awhile.
Thanks for the input! Just having Duggan start the hard line of questioning with Mara about his brother and nephew the other day sold me on him as a reporter.
It’s also very easy to get it for free or on reduced price. They offer deals all the time.

Thank you pal!!
Also enjoy Dane Brugler’s NFL draft analysis.
The NY Times just purchased The Athletic. Early signs are they will let it run as is independently. I do hope they keep their word.
Did the same. Was definitely worth it at the new rate.
Also really like their fantasy writer Jake Ciely. Won my league this year with that as the only ranking site I used so my sub had a great ROI.
I like all the NY sports....and its so good....especially for Giants and Rangers.....the Mets/Yankees get good coverage in regular papers.....but
Dane Brugler's Draft recap alone is worth the price of subscription.

That draft guide he puts out, which is like 3-400 pages, is worth the price of the subscription on its own for me.
They are just making up pricing and then jacking it up with the hope you will forget about it and not notice the charge on your account.
As you can see above everyone pays a different price.

I have to keep an eye on that, they notified me when my subscription was running out and asked me if I wanted to renew. I think I paid 10 bucks.
Love the articles, but find the site terribly hard to navigate!
I've been starting to lean this way myself.
Seems like they've gone more long-form overall, at the expense of frequency. But for a paid subscription, I'd like more than 1-2 articles weekly on each of my favorite teams, especially when one of the two weekly pieces is often a mailbag or some other regurgitation of what's already widely discussed elsewhere (particularly on Twitter, and often, the respective Athletic beat writer is well represented on Twitter anyway).
I think they've gotten lost somewhere between being a daily sports page and being more like a Sports Illustrated weekly magazine (but with the ability to filter for your own favorite teams/sports), and I think they try to do both sometimes and end up accomplishing neither.
I'd love it if they could somehow provide daily sports page type punches, along with agate page stuff like standings, scores, and schedules, and also keep the more detailed articles on a weekly basis. Otherwise, I'm starting to wonder what they provide that can't be replicated with Twitter and podcasts (and other beat reporters along with national media outlets). For example, with the Giants, Duggan is great, but does he ever break stories exclusively via the subscription channels (if at all)? Same for Adler with the Yankees, etc.
